Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad cars. This design consists in "[a] car-coupling link having a slotted spring-head adapted to hold the link in a draw-head by frictional contact therewith, and arranged and adapted to permit a coupling-pin to pass through the slots in the said link and its spring-head" (lines 48-53).

Patent for a new and improved ice-machine compressor. This design consists in "an ammonia-compressor, the piston-rod having transverse opening in combination with the valve, stem having slot and shoulder, key held therein by a wedge, and the spring and washer" (lines 90-94).

Patent for a head rest to be used in cars and other places and can be attached to a seat or shawl, including illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved stamp canceler. This design "is to provide a . . . stamp-canceler, which is so constructed that it punctures or perforates the stamp and inks it at the same time, but does not mutilate the letter or other contents of the envelope" (lines 7-12).

Patent for a gas-compressing pump used in refrigeration and ice making. "The object of [the] invention is to reduce the height of a vertical machine, to facilitate access to the parts and relieve the foundation of strains; to reduce to a minimum the angularity of the connecting rod during the latter part of the stroke, and to improve various details of construction" (lines 19-25).

Patent for a horse-detaching device that attaches to the forward axle of a vehicle. The invention will not affect the seating capacity of the vehicle, and can be used to release the thills of the vehicle quickly if the driver loses control of the horse. The device can be used to guide the vehicle after the horse is released.

Patent for a cigar lighter in which the cigar is lit on a glowing surface, improves on the ease of operating a cigar lighter, and provides space for an advertisement.

Patent for an automobile tire pump that can be used with any size tire.

Patent for a new and useful improvement in trolley-guards to prevent "the trolley - wheel at the top of a trolley - pole from jumping fro the conducting - wire, thus avoiding the stopping of the cars" (line 9 - 11).

Patent for a milking apparatus. This invention is designed to imitate the action of hand milking or a calf's sucking. Illustration included.

Patent for a padlock, which can only be opened with a certain key and prevents the use of many lock-picking devices.

Patent for "a frame in which the motor shall be firmly supported without undue strain on any part of the machine and in which the weight of the motor shall be as low as may be and to connect the motor to the driving-axle in such way that a pedal shall also be utilized for driving the machine with little interference from the motor and with a proper balance of friction and to improve certain details and combinations of the driving-gear" (lines 10-20).

Patent for a fan, which attaches to rocking chairs and is powered by the rocking motion.

Patent for a now and useful Scraper for Mixing-Machines, which is specifically a scraper attachment for the mixing-cylinder wherewith the material that may cling to the inner surface of the cylinder may be scraped off and the mixing operation may be thoroughly performed.
