Adjustable Bench Hook.
Patent for a new and improved bench hook. This design "consists in a bench-hook constructed with a plate carrying a sliding bar, to which is adjustably secured a hook. The sliding bar and hook are locked in place by a clamp and cam attached to the plate, and the plate and its attachments are locked to the bench-front by a stationary lug attached to the plate, and a moveable lug attached to a lever pivoted to the said plate and locked in place by a cam, so that the said hook can be readily adjusted upward, downward, forward, and backward" (lines 20-30).

An ultrasonic sensor system and method of use for measuring transit time through a liquid sample, comprising at least one ultrasonic transducer coupled to a precision time interval counter. The timing circuit captures changes in transit time, representing small changes in the velocity of sound transmitted, over necessarily small time intervals (nanoseconds) and uses the transit time changes to identify the presence of non-conforming constituents in the sample.

The device described is designed to aid in the processes of fastening siding to the ribs of a ship hull by first forcing the boards that form the siding close together so that they can then be secured to the hull's ribs. The improvements this jack provides is the necessary force required to closely align the boards easily and quickly before they are nailed in place. This mechanical device is lightweight, efficient and easy to repair. It can adapt to various similar tasks such as bending iron beams.
