Patent for an apparatus for operating churns, ice cream freezers, or the like, and is meant "to produce an apparatus in which there is simultaneously given to the vessel a revolving motion and a revolving or vibrating motion to the agitator working in the vessel" (lines 14-18).

Patent for a car-coupling meant to "provide in an automatic car-coupling improved means for holding and guiding the link into the draw-head" (lines 9-12).

Patent for a pipe-wrench that has a shank with a fixed jaw, a handle for the shank, a movable jaw with two loops for the shank to pass through and a movable upper loop, a ferrule attached to the handle with a long opening, an adjustable screw with a milled collar in the movable jaw, and a pin attached to the shank.

Patent for an efficient lubricator apparatus that is made up of a reservoir for lubricating oil, a discharge pipe, another pipe that feeds water or condensed steam into the reservoir to displace the oil, a sediment container that has a valved discharge outlet on the bottom, a filter that cleans oil from the discharge pipe, a pipe that lets fluid into the sediment receptacle, and a steam pipe above the oil reservoir.

Patent for a type-writing machine that allows the spacing mechanism to operate in conjunction with other parts so that the paper-carriage releases and return the paper automatically at the end of the line. The springs automatically release and return to action with each release.

Patent for a vehicle-axle point that does not require repair. The "invention consists of a thimble that is to be shrunk, pressed, or fastened onto the axle by clips, bolts, or set-screws" (lines 20-22), so that the point does not need to be taken off.

Patent for a hose or pipe coupling meant to "provide a coupling of great simplicity of construction forming a tight and efficient connection by which the hose can be connected without turning it, without the screwing together of the sections and without a loose washer within one of the couplings which is readily lost and quickly gets out of order" (lines 12-19).

Patent for a riding-saddle with a "short rigid tree, which constitutes the front or forked portion of the saddle, and [the inventor] construct[s] the body and cantle of pieces of thick but duly flexible leather" (lines 21-25). This makes the saddle more comfortable for both horse and rider.

Patent for a metallic roof that has "an improved means for securing the adjoining edges of the metallic strips together, whereby a tight water proof joint is produced and the metal strips securely attached to the sheathing of the roof" (lines 15-20).

Patent for a hay-rack meant to "provide an improved device for holding or clamping hay within reach of livestock, and which while not impairing the feeding of the stock will prevent them from pulling the hay down beneath their feet" (lines 14-19).

Patent for a simple and durable grubber that has "a frame preferably carrying a caster-wheel at front, guiding-handles at rear, vertical cutting knives or shares at its sides, penetrating shares or points at the lower ends of said knives, and a transverse or horizontal knife or share at rear of said points, preferably in substantially the same plane therewith, and adjustable mounted to be tilted or inclined out of the horizontal and adjusting handles for the transverse share" (lines 20-30).

Patent for a harrow that has "teeth bars or beams and teeth [that] may be readily cleared of rubbish and other obstacles which tend to clog the teeth and interfere with the efficient working of the harrow" (lines 16-20).

Patent for an earth-auger that is more effective than other augers and can be constructed to make different sized holes. It is operated by moving two blades back and forth.
