Patent for a simple, practical, and easy to use car coupling and in air brake coupling that automatically couples cars together. It can be easily uncoupled from the top or sides of cars. When it couples, it also connects the cars' air pipes together.

Patent for a cooking utensil that is used to cook cereal and similar food articles "that are boiled, steamed, or heated by the agency of boiling water, the objects being to provide a sauce-pan or other suitable vessel, with novel interior parts, that will facilitate the cooking of oatmeal, mush, grits, rice, or other cereals, without danger of their burning, dispensing with need of constant attention, and effecting the operation in a speedy, thorough manner" (lines 11-19).

Patent for an improvement in a device to hold brooms and items with handles by simplifying the design and making it more resistant to strain.

Patent for an improved and simple churn that works easily and quickly. It "is adapted to permit of the simultaneous securing and retention of the cream vessel or receptacle in position in its journaling or carrying frame, as well as the cover upon said vessel, and to provide for the ready removal of said vessel or receptacle and its said cover preparatory to removing the contents of the vessel or the cleaning thereof" (lines 18-25).

Patent for "a double-acting [screw] baling press...capable of exerting pressure from two directions and operated by two independent mechanisms" (lines 15-18).

Patent for a car brake that "automatically absorb[s] the slack in car brake connecting rods which slack is induced by the wear of the brake shoes and fastening and the stretching of the parts by the strain in applying the brake" (lines 7-12). It is adjustable, inexpensive, and adjustable.

Patent for a waffle iron that can be operated by placing it on a stove-top. It "consists in a base, a yoke pivoted thereto and swinging in vertical plane, and the molding and cooking irons carried by the yoke" (lines 15-18).

Patent for a vine cutter that is meant "to simplify the construction of devices of this character by means of an integral formation of the cutter" (lines 8-10). It can be "adapted to be applied to a plow standard or foot consisting of a pair of cutting knives or shares integrally connected by a front cross-piece with a single central opening therein for the passage therethrough of a single securing bolt, the knives being rearwardly divergent and obliquely arranged at a downward angle, the lower edges of said knives or shares being sharpened and their rear ends curved upwardly, the said lower edges of the knives or shares adjacent to the said cross-piece being formed blunt" (lines 90-102).

Patent for a mail-bag fastener that consists of a mail bag with a flap, slots, a double upper portion next to the flap, a channel cut into the portion, guides with slots across the channel, a leather strap that slides into the channel, staples on the inside of the flap, and a tag holder attached to the back of the strap.

Patent for an improved, simple, efficient, and inexpensive load lifter and carrier meant to be used in warehouses in order to load and unload barrels, bales, and other loads.

Patent for invented a new and useful Nut-Lock. Invention relates to improvements in nut locks of the class known as "spring and ratchet," for the purpose of proving a simple, cheap and easily operated nut lock without injury to any parts, and in which the locking means are concealed and protected while in the operative positions (10-15)

Patent for an improved cultivator with a hoe-attachment that can be "thrown into and out of operation and employed for thinning crops simultaneous with the cultivation of the same with as much convenience and accuracy as the ordinary hand hoe and with greater expedition" (lines 13-18).

Patent for a device that puts disk harrows back into working condition after becoming worn. The invention consists of a socket, frames, a rod with an end-bearing, a handle, and a sharpener.

Patent for a gate that swings outward whenever it is unlatched that consists of an eye-joint that connects the gate to the post that turns vertically and horizontally, an extended toprail, a lever, and a pivot.

Patent for a snap-hook for general use that can be used for attaching whips, ropes, and similar things to saddles and harnesses. It is composed of a flat metal plate with screw holes, a hook that is secured to the edge of the plate, and a screw.

Patent for a gate that is meant "to facilitate the opening of the gate without the intervention or use of the hands; to strengthen and brace the gate so as to prevent any possible sagging thereof, the braces being extended to form part of the hinge joint; to provide and dispose a latch so that it can be easily actuated by the foot from either approach for the purpose of releasing and opening the gate; lastly, to provide a gate that will close automatically without the use of springs and which will be simple, cheap, light and give satisfactory results" (lines 14-26).

Patent for an improved dredging apparatus "and it consists in combining with the well known bucket chain form of excavator a suction pipe provided with a hopper and a crushing or breaking device so that the material being deposited in the hopper by the continuously moving buckets will be carried under the action of gravity to the breaking or crushing device and thence through a suction pipe and pump and delivery pipe to the place of deposit" (lines 9-18).
