Patent for a new and improved plow. This design consists, "with the plow-stock provided with a staple near the lower end of the standard, having an opening formed with a series of parallel sides, and a staple on the beam . . . consisting of a series of bails of the fender-plate rigidly secured to the rod, the lower end of said rod being formed in cross-section of a series of parallel sides, said end adapted to fit and be adjusted in said staple, the upper end of the rod being adapted to be adjusted in any one of the bails of the staple" (lines 7-18).

Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad cars. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the draw-head provided with the hole through its under side and the vertical guide-grooves in its exterior sides, of the stirrup sliding in said grooves and provided with a tongue at its lower and hooks at its upper parts, and a lifting-device—such as a rod or bar—adapted to engage with the upper part of the stirrup for raising it in the said external guide-grooves and causing the said tongue to raise the coupling-link in the draw-head" (lines 4-14).

Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad cars. This design "is to make a car-coupler in which the link shall cause the pin to drop within it, which can be coupled or uncoupled from the side or top of cars without danger to the brake[people], and which is provided with means for lifting the link of cars with lower draw-heads" (lines 11-17).

Patent for "a very simple and economically-constructed alarm mechanically connected with windows and doors of a house or a room and adapted to be sounded by a raising or opening of the same, and at the same time to strike a light or illuminate the surroundings (lines 10-15).

Patent for "a medical compound or liniment for the alleviation and cure of wounds, especially those occasioned by barb-wire fences, burns, bruises, sprains, rheumatism, frost-bites, and hemorrhoids on man or beast" (lines 11-15).

Patent for a new and improved hay press. This design consists, "with the frame, of the pivot-pin mounted in the end of the frame and having a crank disk on its lower end, the pitman pivoted to said disk, the spring secured to the pitman and the frame, the double-cam secured on the pivot-pin, the sweep loosely mounted on the pivot-pin above the said double cam, and the dogs pivoted within the sweep and bearing on the cam" (lines 59-67).

Patent for "a seed-planter for planting corn, cotton, and other seeds; and it has for its object to provide a device of this class which shall be simple, inexpensive, and efficient in operation" (lines 9-13).

Patent for a new and improved file case. This design consists in "the combination, with a pedestal, of a staff rising therefrom, a series of revolving racks having a marginal flange and radial compartments, and a cap having a socket in its under side and bearing on the upper end of the staff, whereby the pans and racks may be freely rotated" (lines 90-96).

Patent for an improvement to extensible trestles for masonry and carpentryscaffolding and other uses, including both instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved fishing tackle. This design is "to provide a snaring device which will, so far as possible, insure a capture; to so arrange the hooks as to prevent a loss of bait, and to provide a device capable of ensnaring as many fish as may at the time of lifting the snare by nibbling at the bait. . . . the invention consists in a spacing-ring, preferably formed of lead or other heavy metal and having a central hub and having a series of hooks radiating from the tub and secured to the ring, and in locating above the hub and at the center of a series of hooks a bait-support" (lines 11-24).

Patent for a new and improved portable dam. This design "consists in the combination of the timbers which form the dam, the vertical uprights between which the timbers are place, the braces which support the dam in an upright position, the rider placed upon the braces, the wires, and the hooks to which the wires are fastened" (lines 13-19).

Patent for a new and improved plow slide. This design consists in "[a] combination tool for use with plows, consisting of a suitable bar having one end turned upward, provided with a beveled edge at the other end, a suitable cross-strap, and having openings at the sides, and bent ends adapted to the nuts used in a plow" (lines 70-75).

Patent for a new and improved plow. This design "relates to plows; and it consists in certain improvements of construction of the same, having for its object to admit of the adjustment of the heel-bar of the plow with relation to the standard of the same, and also to provide the said heel-bar with an adjustable knife or cutter which shall serve as a rudder to prevent the plow from swerving to either side during operation" (lines 8-16).

Patent for a new and improved railroad-tie. This design "has for its object the provision of means for broadening the gage of a road at curves thereof and the production of a metallic tie that is extremely simple in construction and by means of which a rail can be readily removed or secured in place and a firm elastic bearing obtained thereof" (lines 19-25).
