Patent for a new and improved hand press for food. This design "consists in the construction and novel arrangement of a lower perforated bowl or receptacle having a rigid handle extending at right angles . . . and an upper perforated presser-head conforming in shape to the bowl, and having a sliding attachment to the handle of the bowl, a lever-handle pivoted to the main handle . . . and a spring catch to hold the lever up to the main handle when the presser-head is drawn up" (lines 21-32).

This design "consists in the peculiar arrangement of a spool or roller from which the stock is taken, a wheel upon which it is wound from the roller, a cutting board or table, and a measuring-wheel, whereby . . . handling, measuring, and cutting bagging, matting, carpets, and other goods . . . may be effected in a simple and convenient method" (lines 11-19).

Patent for a new and improved bowling game. This design calls for blocks or pins of different values, and rather than try to knock down these pins, the object of the game is to move them from their designated starting positions. Further, a pit or gutter behind the pins receives the ball after it is thrown, and it redirects it back down toward the players by way of a perpendicular gutter to which it is connected.
