Patent for a new and improved plow. This design consists, "with the plow-stock provided with a staple near the lower end of the standard, having an opening formed with a series of parallel sides, and a staple on the beam . . . consisting of a series of bails of the fender-plate rigidly secured to the rod, the lower end of said rod being formed in cross-section of a series of parallel sides, said end adapted to fit and be adjusted in said staple, the upper end of the rod being adapted to be adjusted in any one of the bails of the staple" (lines 7-18).

Hearth Guard or Shield.

Patent for a new and improved fireplace cover. This design consists in a "hearth guard or shield, the same consisting of a rectangular plate of sheet metal cut out to form the inside openings of different size, and bent at right angles at the point where the smaller opening in the vertical or upright part opens into the larger opening in the horizontal part, thereby forming projections or inside shoulders having notches adapted to be bent to fit the sides of the grate" (lines 64-73).

This design "relates to mole-traps, and to that class of the same which are placed above the mole-hill and communicate with the hole therein, so that the passage of the mole through the latter will actuate the trap to impale the mole in the usual manner" (lines 9-14).
