The play was directed by Tracie Jenkins and performed on May 21-23 and May 28-30 at the Apollo Theatre in New York City. The performance included the performers Bessie Smith, Pearl Bailey, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, Nancy Wilson, and Aretha Franklin.
