The writer believes the railway would benefit stock and bondholders as well as the citizens of the towns through which it passes. It is also stated than an impartial third party should judge whether a route is constructed, rather than the people of the towns or the engineers and that the board of directors should be made up of those that are informed of the conditions of the land.

Sayles also states that it is McAlpine's responsibility to furnish the substituted obligations of Cargill and Martin. Sayles will remit filing fees so long as Robison agrees that McAlpine is entitled to have the correction deed filed in Robison's office.

The letter lists the principle, interest, and total due to the bank. There is a stamp on the letter reading, "Paid [..] 1927 Citizens National Bank Abilene, Texas."
