George Ranch Richmond, Texas 77469 Dear Hilmar: It will be the George Ranch time to be featured in the cooperative Polled advertising page in our August 1 issue. I would suggest using something like "Headquarters For Polled Cattle Breeders Since 1932". You might also include a description of what you have for sale and a sentence such as "watch for our all-polled offering in the Pioneer Sale". We have a number of pictures on hand that could be used. I am sending two for your consideration, a group of young bulls and one of a herd sire which I think is Husky George 100. O. Box 1018 Lockhart, Texas Dear Walter: Here are the pictures made at Kingsville. I have copies of them on hand here at the office so if you wish just call me collect about the copy for the next ad. I would suggest using the picture of the three men along with an announcement of the purchase of the highest selling polled bull in the history of the breed; along with a thank you to those who purchased Mamie E. Box 1018 Lockhart, Texas Dear Walter: Attached are two pictures each of four of your Pioneer Sale heifers, one picture of one of the heifers and four pictures of the sale bull. Also included is a suggested layout of a page ad, which includes all six pictures. You will need to fill in appropriate remarks about each animal under its picture. The promotion of these sale cattle could be done in any of the following ways. 1. Run the attached layout in both the September and October issues. 2. Increase the size to two pages to run in September, thereby making the pictures larger; run a follow up smaller ad of a half page in the October issue. 3. Do not run a picture of all of the heifers - use only one or two. We will need to have the layout, copy and pictures you want to use in September by August 20. Moore 900 Hillcrest, Richmond, Texas 77469 Dear Hilmar: Enclosed are the photographs which I took when I was with you and Walter at the George Ranch. The day was not the best and the photographer could have been a little better too. I understand Roger went out the next day when he had some sunlight. I hope he got some good shots for you. Cardboard white envelope with a white label on front which reads: "First Class Mail From The Cattleman 410 East Weatherford Street Fort Worth 2, Texas To Hilmar Moore George Building Richmond, Texas 77469" . The envelope had a label with red writing in top right corner and is only partially legible because it was cut off.

Gray thick paper with "Harry C. Webb" in black type. The card has a rusted outline of a paper clip[ in the top left corner.

Letter enclosed in a portrait [2000.042.009b] of Miss Jean Kiger to Mrs. Mamie George. The letter, written in black ink, reads as follows: "Miss Jean Kiger R. 6 Box 1012 Houston 8, Tex Dear Mrs. George, I thought you might like to have one of my graduation pictures. I would have sent you one with the invitation but the studio did not have them finished then. I hope Mr. George is over his flu by now. Tell him "Hello" for me. Very Sincerely Yours Jean Kiger".

This letter from the American Veteran Industries had the newspaper article with picture of Mr. And Mrs. A.P. George Accession # 2000.020.005a. The letter reads: "American Veteran Industries P. O. Box 834 Kansas City, Missouri. Attention: The American Veteran has selected YOUR Article! Your new item containing memories of the golden past has been preserved by the process of Permolasting to defy the elements of time, air and water. Your remittance of $1.00 or more if you wish would be greatly appreciated so that we may continue our work. If you desire we can obtain additional copies through the courtesy of the publishers. Your Favorite photographs, membership cards, social security cards, etc., can also be processed for a small fee if you will send them to us. Enclosed for your convenience is a prepaid remittance envelope. Thank you in advance for your reply. Sincerely yours, The American Veteran." A form below the letter request name and address information.

Manila envelope that contained a letter from "The Cattleman", four photo proofs, and fifteen photographs. Envelope front reads: "The Cattleman 410 East Weatherford Street Fort Worth, Texas 76102 [on white label with black print] First Class Mail From The Cattleman 410 East Weatherford Street Fort Worth 2, Texas To Mr. Hilmar Ge. Moore 900 Hillcrest Richmond, Texas 77469. Address Correction Requested Return Postage Guaranteed." The pre-postage paid stamp reads in red: "Help Stamp Out Cattle Thefts Brand Your Cattle As Evidence of Legal Ownership". Postmarked in red: "Fort Worth Tex. Apr 27' 70 U. S. Postage 30 PB Meter 300530".

Manila envelope that contained one 8 x 10 photograph 2000.057.063b. The front of the envelope has pencil writing that reads: "12 - 8 x 10 nights of Pitters (?) 105 Bouth (?)". Written on back of envelope in pencil: "Due 10 00 [line] x x goe 4261 180 2 [line] 360 180 [line] 540 3 3 3 3 x 3 J".

Blue print of personal stationary reads: "A Memo From John Brandon [and at bottom of note] The Cattleman" The notation in pencil reads: "Paul, these are pics [sic] from Hilmar Moore's. Walter wanted to see these contacts for the ad to use and maybe order some more from. Whoever goes to the meeting needs to carry them to Greenville." Two 8 x 10 photograph (collages) were attached to this memo with a paper clip.

George Ranch Box 33 Richmond, Texas 77469 Dear Mrs. Berry: I am returning the picture of the champion Shorthorn bull Prince Peter Jasper that I borrowed from you the other day. Many thanks for the use of it. Sincerely yours, [signed] Roger B. Letz Roger B. Letz RBL/mm Enc.". The photograph referred to in the letter is 2000.034.025.

Letter with "The Santa Gertrudis Journal" letter head reads: " Roger B. Letz, Publisher P. O. Box 2386 Fort Worth, Texas August 12, 1969 Mr.. Walter W. Cardwell, Jr. Box 1018 Lockhart, Texas Dear Walter: Here are the layouts we discussed yesterday. The September ad has been sent to Hilmar. I found a good picture of Walter Hellyer. Many thanks for your efforts in my behalf on this matter and I will try my best to help you as time goes by. Should you want me to meet with you and Hilmar at the ranch I will be happy to do so. I have in mind doing a story on the cattle Hilmar has sold that are on feed at Eagle Lake and in turn made into barbecue for a man in El Campo. These are his personal cattle. We have 47 students for the school of knowledge at Valley Mills, from six states and Mexico, a turn out that is much better than we expected. Looks like this will be a successful venture. Included is one of No. 99, the bull which is scheduled to be used in the January ad, of which you have a layout. All photos are identified on the back. Hilmar was not here, but I called him and he said to go ahead without him being in the pictures. We are mailing the January issue early, so we need copy as soon as possible. Sincerely yours, [signed] Roger B. Letz RBL/mm."

Letter sent to the Mamie George from "The Rosenberg Herald". The letter has a letterhead with black text that reads: "The Rosenberg Herald" 'Fort Bend County's Leading Newspaper' NO2-3737 Rosenberg, Texas [in black border] Memo From the Desk of Don Bryant Editor-General Mgr." The type written letter reads: " 3/25/60 Dear Mrs. George: Found this in our files - - an aerial picture of your ranch. Thought maybe you'd like to have it. Regards, [signed] Donald B. Bryant, Editor - Gen. Mgr. The Herald-Coaster". An aerial photograph, 2000.048.007b, was enclosed with letter.

Letter from Robinson Portraits to Mr. Tom Booth. Letterhead in blue: "Robinson Portraits Marijo Robinson One Studio Only Children and Pets [emblem] Member The Photographers Association of America 2912 Fannin, JA 9 - 1108 Houston 2, Texas Established 1935". The note reads as follows: "April 15 - 58 Mr. Tom Booth Richmond, Tex- 1-3 /14 [sic] x 4 1/4 colored copy in Frame - 5500 Paid April 16 - Robinson Portraits [sic] 1958". The photograph referred to in the letter is accession 2000.052.003b.

Manila envelope containing one photograph 2000.028.014b. The label on the envelope reads: "From R. W. Shirer 210 Westport Road Kansas City, Mo. Return Postage Guaranteed To Mr. C. M. Frost, 25th Floor Esperson Bldg., Houston 2, Texas." and is stamped "First Class Mail" to the top and left of the label. The envelope has a United States 10 cents Postage Stamp bearing the image of John Tyler 1841-1845 and is postmarked Kansas City Mo. Jul 29 6 PM 1955. Written in pencil across the front of envelope: "1/4 + 7/8 9/8" "9/16" On label and "C".

Linen style envelope has writing in blue ink on front that reads: "Cousin Babe Pictures". The flap on the back of the envelope reserved for the return address has text that reads: "Mrs. A. P. George Richmond, Texas". The envelope is lined with blue paper. The envelope contained four photographs.

Manila envelope from "the Geizendanner company Houston 6, Texas Advertising" to " Mr. A. P. George Richmond, Texas" postmarked "Houston, Tex. June 13 1951". Four purple 3 cent United States Postage stamps are cancelled in the top right corner. Written in red ink near top left corner: "Cattle Pictures". Eighteen cattle photographs were enclosed in this envelope.

Wedding invitation on off-white paper which reads: "Mr. & Mrs. J.H.P. Davis announce the marriage of their daughter Mary E. to Mr. Albert P. George. Wednesday, October the seventh, eighteen hundred and ninety six. Richmond, Texas. At Home after November the first, Richmond, Texas."
