Two 8 x 10 photograph (collages) were attached to this memo with a paper clip.

Manila envelope containing one photograph 2000.028.014b. The label on the envelope reads: "From R. W. Shirer 210 Westport Road Kansas City, Mo. Return Postage Guaranteed To Mr. C. M. Frost, 25th Floor Esperson Bldg., Houston 2, Texas." and is stamped "First Class Mail" to the top and left of the label. The envelope has a United States 10 cents Postage Stamp bearing the image of John Tyler 1841-1845 and is postmarked Kansas City Mo. Jul 29 6 PM 1955. Written in pencil across the front of envelope: "1/4 + 7/8 9/8" "9/16" On label and "C".

Manila envelope from "the Geizendanner company Houston 6, Texas Advertising" to " Mr. A. P. George Richmond, Texas" postmarked "Houston, Tex. June 13 1951". Four purple 3 cent United States Postage stamps are cancelled in the top right corner. Written in red ink near top left corner: "Cattle Pictures". Eighteen cattle photographs were enclosed in this envelope.

Gray thick paper with "Harry C. Webb" in black type. The card has a rusted outline of a paper clip[ in the top left corner.

Cardboard white envelope with a white label on front which reads: "First Class Mail From The Cattleman 410 East Weatherford Street Fort Worth 2, Texas To Hilmar Moore George Building Richmond, Texas 77469" . The envelope had a label with red writing in top right corner and is only partially legible because it was cut off.

Letter with "The Santa Gertrudis Journal" letterhead reads: Roger B. Letz, Publisher P. O. Box 2386 Fort Worth, Texas 76101 August 10, 1970 Mr. Walter W. Cardwell, Jr. P. O. Box 1018 Lockhart, Texas Dear Walter: Attached are two pictures each of four of your Pioneer Sale heifers, one picture of one of the heifers and four pictures of the sale bull. Also included is a suggested layout of a page ad, which includes all six pictures. You will need to fill in appropriate remarks about each animal under its picture. The promotion of these sale cattle could be done in any of the following ways. 1. Run the attached layout in both the September and October issues. 2. Increase the size to two pages to run in September, thereby making the pictures larger; run a follow up smaller ad of a half page in the October issue. 3. Do not run a picture of all of the heifers - use only one or two. We will need to have the layout, copy and pictures you want to use in September by August 20. Many thanks for your efforts in my behalf on this matter and I will try my best to help you as time goes by. Should you want me to meet with you and Hilmar at the ranch I will be happy to do so. I have in mind doing a story on the cattle Hilmar has sold that are on feed at Eagle Lake and in turn made into barbecue for a man in El Campo. These are his personal cattle. We have 47 students for the school of knowledge at Valley Mills, from six states and Mexico, a turn out that is much better than we expected. Looks like this will be a successful venture. George Ranch Richmond, Texas 77469 Dear Hilmar: It will be the George Ranch time to be featured in the cooperative Polled advertising page in our August 1 issue. I would suggest using something like "Headquarters For Polled Cattle Breeders Since 1932". You might also include a description of what you have for sale and a sentence such as "watch for our all-polled offering in the Pioneer Sale". We have a number of pictures on hand that could be used. I am sending two for your consideration, a group of young bulls and one of a herd sire which I think is Husky George 100. Please let me know what your wishes are in regard to the ad and return the picture you want to use. Sincerely yours, [signed] Roger Roger B. Letz" .

Horn, Editor" Contents of letter dated April 27, 1970: Mr. Hilmar G. Moore 900 Hillcrest, Richmond, Texas 77469 Dear Hilmar: Enclosed are the photographs which I took when I was with you and Walter at the George Ranch. The day was not the best and the photographer could have been a little better too. I understand Roger went out the next day when he had some sunlight. I hope he got some good shots for you. Manila envelope that contained a letter from "The Cattleman", four photo proofs, and fifteen photographs. Envelope front reads: "The Cattleman 410 East Weatherford Street Fort Worth, Texas 76102 [on white label with black print] First Class Mail From The Cattleman 410 East Weatherford Street Fort Worth 2, Texas To Mr. Hilmar Ge. Moore 900 Hillcrest Richmond, Texas 77469. Address Correction Requested Return Postage Guaranteed." The pre-postage paid stamp reads in red: "Help Stamp Out Cattle Thefts Brand Your Cattle As Evidence of Legal Ownership". Postmarked in red: "Fort Worth Tex. Apr 27' 70 U. S. Postage 30 PB Meter 300530".

A letter with "The Santa Gertrudis Journal" as the letterhead reads as: "Roger B. Letz, Publisher P. O. Box 2386 Fort Worth, Texas 76101 (817) 336-3611 October 20, 1970 Mr. Walter W. Cardwell, Jr. P. O. Box 1018 Lockhart, Texas Dear Walter: Here are the pictures made at Kingsville. I have copies of them on hand here at the office so if you wish just call me collect about the copy for the next ad. I would suggest using the picture of the three men along with an announcement of the purchase of the highest selling polled bull in the history of the breed; along with a thank you to those who purchased Mamie E. Included is one of No. 99, the bull which is scheduled to be used in the January ad, of which you have a layout. All photos are identified on the back. Hilmar was not here, but I called him and he said to go ahead without him being in the pictures. We are mailing the January issue early, so we need copy as soon as possible. The letterhead reads: "The Santa Gertrudis Journal". The contents of the letter dated December 22, 1969 are: "Roger B. Letz, Publisher P. O. George Ranch Box 33 Richmond, Texas 77469 Dear Mrs. Berry: I am returning the picture of the champion Shorthorn bull Prince Peter Jasper that I borrowed from you the other day. Many thanks for the use of it. Sincerely yours, [signed] Roger B. Letz Roger B. Letz RBL/mm Enc.". The photograph referred to in the letter is 2000.034.025.

This letter from the American Veteran Industries had the newspaper article with picture of Mr. And Mrs. A.P. George Accession # 2000.020.005a. The letter reads: "American Veteran Industries P. O. Box 834 Kansas City, Missouri. Attention: The American Veteran has selected YOUR Article! Your new item containing memories of the golden past has been preserved by the process of Permolasting to defy the elements of time, air and water. Your remittance of $1.00 or more if you wish would be greatly appreciated so that we may continue our work. If you desire we can obtain additional copies through the courtesy of the publishers. Your Favorite photographs, membership cards, social security cards, etc., can also be processed for a small fee if you will send them to us. Enclosed for your convenience is a prepaid remittance envelope. Thank you in advance for your reply. Sincerely yours, The American Veteran." A form below the letter request name and address information.
