Carswell expresses his appreciation for the letter and enclosure from Davis of January 14. He advises of his efforts to organize the 24th Senatorial District, describing the interest as luke warm but assures Davis that he will not stop until they have a set-up in each county. He advises of meetings already scheduled and requests the names of any leaders in the counties of the District.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from E. J. Miller, Lawyer, Brownwood, Texas, dated July 16, 1941. Miller advises Carswell that he is enclosing a copy of the letter which he is writing to Dr. Jeff Davis. He advises that the letter might be of interest since Carswell phoned yesterday afternoon. The attached letter is written to Dr. Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys from E. J. Miller, Judge, 35th Judicial District, Brownwood, Texas dated July 16, 1941. Miller reports on the proceedings regarding Ellison vs. Texas Liquor Board, advises to await the action of the Court of Civil Appeals and gives a brief itinerary of his travel and work to date and for the next two weeks requesting further remittance as soon as it may be convenient.

Davis complains about the lack of communication from Pastors after services are held in their churches, advises that their Executive Committee approved the plan that they had discussed with Dr. Jenkens when in Abilene and notes an enclosed check to Carswell for reimbursement for his Belton trip. In postscript, Davis requests Carswell's opinion regarding asking Merkel, Tuscola and Caps to join their field day at Abilene.
