Bradbury advises that he concludes Beatrice Jackson as the owner of a half interest in the property and Carswell is the owner of the other half if in fact Mrs. Beatrice Jackson is the former Beatrice Whitley.

Carswell refers to the letters by Jackson to the City and his ownership of Lot 24 O T 1451 BLK 147 1, City of Abilene, Taylor County Texas. He advises of money owed him for taxes he paid on her property, "Sooner or later you and I will have to settle our dual ownership claims as to Lot 24."

A letter written to Mrs. Beatrice Jackson, Los Angeles, California 90003, from T. N. Carswell, dated August 7, 1969. Carswell advises Jackson that he paid the Taxes on Lewis lot No. 24, City Taxes, for 1968 noting this lot is now owned by Jackson and Carswell.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Bryan Bradbury, Bradbury, Tippen & Cross, Abilene, Texas, dated December 2, 1969. RE: Title to Lot 23, Lewis Subdivision of Lot 1, Block 147, City of Abilene, Taylor County, Texas. Advisement that in the will of Hattie Nichols Turner she left this property to Beatrice Whitley who is now Beatrice Jackson and is the daughter of Hattie Nichols Turner.

A letter written to Mr. Carswell from Lucie K. Whitehead, The Rice Hotel, Houston 2, Texas. Whitehead expresses her appreciation to Carswell for taking care of the payment of the income tax, advises of checks that have been enclosed and asks for the amount owed for his income tax services. Carswell noted that he answered on April 7, 1969.

A letter written to "Mr. Norwood" from Elna Peagler Davis (Mrs. Bob), Waycross, Georgia, dated October 28, 1969. Davis expresses her appreciation for Carswell's very kind letter to her and her family after the death of her mother apologizing for her late response and assuring him of the pleasure her mother derived from his visits and their reminiscing of "old times".

A letter written to Mr. Thomas N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from H. C. Gurney, New York City, N.Y., dated December 30, 1969. Gurney advises Carswell regarding having known Mrs. Sarah Anna Simmons Crane for a number of years, of Crane having suffered severe reversal of fortune and if this would be of any interest to "you at Hardin-Simmons University". Gurney advises that Crane has been taken to a city nursing home, "and unless other plans could be undertaken, will probably spend the rest of her life there". Gurney advises of not being sure if Crane could answer if Carswell does write but that Crane was delighted to have received the note from Carswell at Christmas time.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from Byron Bryant, Alumni Affairs, Hardin-Simmons University dated January 31, 1969. The Alumni Association makes a request of Carswell to be the permanent representative of the Class of 1911-12 of which he was the student association president and, also, a member of the Alumni Association Executive board. Notation handwritten by Carswell and dated February 4, 1969 indicates he did not respond to this letter.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from E. M. Collier, Administrator, Hendrick Memorial Hospital dated July 29, 1969. Collier advises Carswell that Medicare payed for his hospital bill and further instructs him, anytime he uses hospital, to refer his account to him and they will try to show appreciation for "past services". Notation handwritten by Carswell indicates a thank you card was sent on August 21, 1969.

A letter written to "Nonie" [Nora Whiting] from T. N. and Byrdie Carswell, dated April 2, 1969. Carswell offers Easter greetings. "A rainbow from deep in my heart, weighted with all the promise of old. The fabled bags of gold are missing. But in lieu thereof are snow white silver chalices. In the softly tinted and scented ever ascending halo from these chalices you will come better to know the measure and depth of gratitude I convey to you on this Easter Day."

A letter written to "Aun't Virginia" [Byrdie Carswell] and "Uncle Norwood" [T. N. Carswell] from Tom & Virginia, Tampa, Florida, dated April 8, 1969. Tom and Virginia offer their greetings to the Carswells, ask after their health and note that they do not hear from anyone at the old home place in Georgia.
