Carswell writes, "We of the Abilene club are of the opinion, Col. Perry, that Lionism can be best served by your re-election — if you elect not to serve we will push Lion Green's candidacy".

Perry expresses his appreciation for the support of the Abilene Club and promotes his idea for sub-dividing Texas into four Districts creating four District Governors in order to reduce the burden on one District Governor thus enabling Lionism in Texas to grow and serve.

Carswell announces Abilene's candidate Lion R. D. Green for Governor. Typewritten at the bottom of the page is a reply from W. K. Wingfield, President, disclosing their decision to run Colonel Perry for International President stating, "If you will swing the clubs in your section for Lion Perry, we will help you with Lion Green".

A letter written to Julien C. Hyer, Director, Fort Worth National Bank Bldg., Fort Worth, Texas, from Lions International W. J. Higgins, 1st Vice President, San Antonio, Texas, dated April 9, 1924. Explanation by Higgins of their view regarding the Green and Perry races asking if Hyer can throw any light on the subject. He assures Hyer that the San Antonio boys and he would appreciate Hyer's views. A handwritten note by Hyer says to have Carswell answer this.

The letter advises of travel arrangements as provided officers of the Lions Clubs of Texas for the Paris Convention. Perry advises that certificates are "going out" to the Secretaries in this letter. Enclosed is a Round Trip Identification Certificate for the District Convention of Lions Clubs Annual State Meting, Paris, Texas dated May 5-6, 1924 with the signature of Louis C. Perry, District Governor of Texas.
