He gives an account of the growth of two children, Lillian and Henry. He reports that Mariah Rucker had died. He writes about financial matters, collecting fines, and investigating thefts. He says he works as a game warden. He says that there are many empty houses in Gallatin Tennessee for rent or sale.

Letter from Will McKinley to Claude and Linnet Moore White in which the author says that he misses Texas and intends to come back. He describes the illness and death of his mother. He also thanks Claude White for his kindness to Birdie McGee. Birdie writes that she has visited the Shaw's garden, which she said had received 27,00 visitors the day she visited. She gives a description of the exhibit and buildings. She is afraid that they have made a bad move. Both she and Will liked the Dallas area better. Will thinks it would be better to move and live with "father and aunt Ellen." She regrets that she sold so many of her belongings before the move. She said that she experienced a "real winter" while she was in St. Louis. She says she will send a picture of Mattie. Vada Dobbins married Mr. Parker and started for Texas. She became ill in Memphis and died in a few hours.

Letter from Lillian Griffin to Mary Moore in which she lists the members of the family and if they are well or not; the types and numbers of the farm animals; and her family's pets. She says her father was kicked in the knee by a horse.

Letter written to Josephine Wheatly from her husband, Elmer Holcomb Wheatly. In the letter, Elmer talks about a type of kidney pills that might help Josephine feel better, as well as his visit with her father one night. Finally he wishes Josephine a "nice time in Belleville this week with love to all and kisses for you."

Letter from Idee Moses to her uncle, Dr. Joseph Pound, asking when he would be out their way to visit, as he is going to "the fair before the weather gets too warm." She mentions that they are now moved and comfortably living in their new home; they have had a lot of rain over the last two weeks.

Letter from George P. Fuilay to Dr. Joseph Pound telling him to correspond with Mrs. Murdock in order to acknowledge his presence at the upcoming reunion in St. Louis. Fuilay says that Murdock had told him that the "Texas & Pacific and Iron Mountain Railways will give our comrades free passage to St. Louis."

Two letters written to Josephine Wheatly from her husband, Elmer Holcomb Wheatly, in Waco, Texas. The first letter discusses Josephine's father's sickness and that her mother is coming down to see him; Elmer and Harry Bahl had not told him that she was coming. The second letter is a response sent shortly after the first, and it states: "Papa is no better he is real sick Harry will write you this morning."
