The writer describes happenings in the settlement, including issues with the cows, one man (Dreyher) who is missing, some stolen horses and various issues relating to the colonists. On same page, letter from W. Elliot in San Antonio written on 1844/12/04 regarding finances and a cart with meal and bacon that has not arrived yet. Also on same page, the beginning of another letter to Castro, written 1844/12/13. Page 203, verso, of letter book. Continuation of letter from [Ferdinand Louis Huth] to [Henri] Castro explaining troubles with hired help and relating that the wagons carrying bacon and meal finally arrived after he had to hire someone else to transport the goods. Huth also states that he received a letter from Dreher, who was feared dead, and that he will be returning. Pages 203 (recto), 204, and 205 (recto) of letter book.

He also tells him that he is sending Philipp Schneider, a gardener, at his own expense and that he is to work Huth's land until his passage is repaid. Mr. Reigert is taking grape sprouts to Texas and hopes to make wine. At the end is a short letter from August [Huth] to [Ferdinand] Louis [Huth] regarding two boxes of wicker and that Maas has gotten married.
