Austin, in which Chamberlain informs Austin that he has purchased part of John Cummings' interest in the silver mine on the Trinity River. Jones requests further information regarding plans to put bring the mine into production, as well as, the current value of the mineral. Jones also suggests to Austin that would be to the benefit of the enterprise to arrange a meeting of the shareholders in the coming year.

Copy of transcript for a letter from Stephen F. Austin to J.H. Bell, in which Austin orders Bell to prevent any new settlers from traveling further than five miles below La Baddie [Bedias Road], because Mr. Kincheloe has already been given the authority to choose any tract above or below La Baddie. Austin also warns Hill to avoid giving settlement permits to anyone without proper recommendations, and to be cautious of incoming settlers from Red River because their traveling party may include criminals.
