Kirk advises Carswell of the enclosed correspondence and a $500 Postal Savings Certificate received from the California Authorities issued in favor of Subject A-9808-A. She expresses her appreciation to Carswell for his assistance and advises him that nothing was said by California regarding the tools belonging to subject. A letter written to Governor Allan Shivers, Austin, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, dated August 27, 1952. Carswell gives his views as to the present political situation and suggests, if it is legally possible, that he would like to see two (2) sets of Electors on the Democratic ballot; one set agreeable to the National Democratic Nominees, and the other set "for the tidelands" (Eisenhower-Nixon). Carswell states that he would like to vote a straight Democratic ticket but "if I must, in order to repudiate a high handed steal openly accomplished and thinly veiled in legality by a spurious dictum - Paramount Rights - spawned for the purpose by a "Charlie McCarthy" minority of the United States Supreme Court —I shall mark out the electors on the Democratic ballot and vote for the Electors on the Republican ballot".

Carswell advises that he heard "over the grapevine" of the probability that Daniel will be a candidate for Governor. He expresses his regrets at losing him as a Senator noting the nation's loss will be Texas' gain and offers his support in the campaign.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Price Daniel, United States Senate, Washington, D. C., dated March 27, 1956. Daniel expresses his appreciation for Carswell's message of support for him in the Governor's race and for his contribution toward the expenses. Handwritten postscript by Daniel; "Sure appreciate your offer to help organize for me. Esco Walter and Morey Millerman will probably work with John Pope and French Robertson on this as before."

The letter contains a notification by Collier of a meeting of the Board of Trustees which has been called by Mr. Anderson. Dinner will be served. Collier advises of a Building Committee recommendation for an additional story to the Minnie L. Anderson Building which is now under construction.

A letter addressed to Hon. Clyde Suddath, County Attorney, Henrietta, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Taylor County Parole Board, dated July 27, 1955. Copy to Sheriff Ed Powell, McDonald, APD. Carswell references the letter of July 22 sent by Suddath and advises that Subject 95040 OP is now under his supervision. Carswell advises Suddath regarding his own immediate investigation, vouches for Subject and requests that Suddath investigate the possibility of a rodeo performer using the name of Subject.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Taylor County Voluntary Parole Board, from the North Carolina Board of Paroles, Raleigh, North Carolina (M. R. Peterson, Investigator), dated May 27, 1957. Referring to Subject N. C. Prison 60841-2, Peterson advises Carswell that the case will not be considered again until December 8, 1957.

Carswell outlines the plan for the Armistice Day Program noting The Texas Defense Guard is to be honored and invites Earp's command to participate. Typewritten at bottom of page is a reply to Major [T. N. Carswell] from Earl Earp, Major, Infantry, TDG., Commanding First Battalion that due to football game it is impossible for the units to make the trip but he hopes to make the trip.

Hethcoat expresses their appreciation for Carswell having informed the hospital of his plans for Mrs. Carswell. A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from (Mrs.) Jewell Goswick, Secretary to Mr. Blackwell, First National Bank In Dallas, dated December 15, 1964. Goswick advises that Mr. Blackwell has obtained and she has enclosed two tickets to the Cotton Bowl and, also, that Blackwell filled out Carswell's check in the amount of $11.00.

A letter written to Honorable Hatton W. Sumners, House of Representatives, Washington, D. C., from T. N. Carswell, Chairman from T. N. Carswell, Chairman, dated October 27, 1942. Carswell issues an invitation to Sumners from the American Legion to visit Abilene and speak to a "great gathering of West Texans" for an Armistice Day program that is in the making.

A letter written to "Mother" and "Peg" [Byrdie Carswell and Peggy Carswell], from "Daddy" [T. N. Carswell], dated February 27, 1932. Carswell acknowledges receipt of their letters expressing his regret that Peg was sick. He describes his enjoyment in speaking to the High School class of the Future Farmers of America and his trip with Mr. Tittle to Robert Lee where Mr. Bradley asked after Peg.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Milton [Milton Whiting], Whiting Oil Company, Clifton Forge, Virginia, dated November 27, 1948. Whiting acknowledges his receipt of Carswell's letter and check noting that he will have approximately 1000 miles on the car to have it broken in and explains regarding the care of the car. He requests that when Carswell comes for the car that he be given "a day or two's notice" so he will not be "out of place".

A letter written to Mr. Charles Maisel, Department Commander, Phillips, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Commander 5th Division, dated November 27, 1942. Carswell expresses his regrets at not seeing Maisel at Wellington and describes the convention events in which he participated. He advises that he has sent his committee nominations and that he will attempt a little membership campaign on his own during December assuring that the extra cost will be justified.
