Miller advises Carswell that he is enclosing a copy of the letter which he is writing to Dr. Jeff Davis. He advises that the letter might be of interest since Carswell phoned yesterday afternoon. The attached letter is written to Dr. Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys from E. J. Miller, Judge, 35th Judicial District, Brownwood, Texas dated July 16, 1941. Miller reports on the proceedings regarding Ellison vs. Texas Liquor Board, advises to await the action of the Court of Civil Appeals and gives a brief itinerary of his travel and work to date and for the next two weeks requesting further remittance as soon as it may be convenient.

A letter written to Dr. Robert G. Davis, President, Daniel Baker College, Brownwood, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Chairman 24th Senatorial District Drys, dated May 29, 1942. Carswell requests a reply to a letter written on March 6 in regards to the question of what Christian Colleges are doing about the use of Beverage Alcohol.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Post Commander, Parramore Post No. 57, American Legion, Abilene, Texas, from Walter Krueger, Major General, U. S. Army, Headquarters VIII Corps, Office of the Commanding General, Brownwood, Texas, dated April 1, 1941. Krueger expresses his appreciation for the invitation to attend the Army Day Celebration in Abilene but declines due to a previous invitation.

Letter written to T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from Bert E. Low, Secretary-Treasurer, Brownwood Farm Loan Association, Brownwood, Texas, dated April 28, 1941. Low requests information from Carswell regarding facts and figures on the sales of liquor in his district which he would like to use in a public appearance. He expresses his dismay at having to decline the invitation to attend the inauguration of Dr. White into the Presidency of HSU.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Thos. H. Taylor, President, Howard Payne College, Brownwood, Texas, dated March 6, 1942. Taylor advises that they have no practical study on the effects of alcohol but approach the problem through classes in science, physical education and health.

Memorandum from Lt. Col. R. N. Richardson to R. P. Hale informing him that his son, Private Alton B. Hale, will undergo an operation at the Camp Bowie base hospital.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Commander, American Legion, Abilene, Texas, from Harley Sadler, Brownwood, Texas, dated February 28, 1941. Sadler confirms his receipt of the wire from Carswell and brags that their show is one of the largest and finest companies they have ever brought to Abilene.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from J. A. Schneck, General Delivery, T. J. Tidwell Shows, Brownwood, Texas/Mineral Wells, Texas, dated March 8, 1941. Schneck confirms the plans for a show the week of March 17th, under the auspices of the Post. The reverse sides includes handwritten notes: "First be true to thineself, Thou canst then be false to any man" - "Aint no such thing as a back slide".

A letter written to Major General Walter Krueger, Commanding Officer, Eighth Corps Area, Brownwood, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Post Commander, Chairman, "Army Day" Arrangements Committee, dated March 31, 1941. Carswell issues an invitation to Krueger to attend Abilene's first "Army Day".
