O'Brien expresses his pleasure at having the occasion to meet and fellowship with Carswell even if only briefly all these years and reminisces about the "good days at old Simmons College". He expresses his pleasure in doing the favor [witnessing Mrs. Carswell's signature] and for the check which he put into the building fund "hoping it will yield dividends for all eternity".

Carswell requests that Hawkins contact the firm to request that the forms be sent, again.

A letter written to Dr. Preston E. Harrison, Big Spring State Hospital, from T. N. Carswell. Carswell advises Harrison of attached checks to cover his January, 1962 accounts for Mrs. Byrdie Carswell and requests advice from Harrison regarding some reading glasses for Byrdie suggesting an exam be given by a local optometrist. The reverse side shows the letter to be written on hte reverse side of Little Tuffy Mfg. Co. letterhead.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from Margaret Pitt, Big Spring State Hospital, Big Spring, Texas, dated October 9, 1961. Pitt references a letter from Carswell in which he requested a complete statement of his account. She provides an outline of his account noting the increase of the daily rate and apologizes for any confusion for which they are responsible.

A letter written to "Daddy" [T. N. Carswell] from "Mother" [Byrdie Carswell]. Byrdie Carswell advises T. N. Carswell that the glasses prescribed by Dr. Fish were dim, she could not see through them and that Dr. Fish is a mess.

A letter written to Mrs. William Peacock, Houston 6, Texas from Mrs. Aubrey Hethcoat, Social Case Worker, Big Spring State Hospital, Big Spring, Texas, dated June 6, 1962. A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from Mrs. Aubrey Hethcoat, Social Case Worker, Big Spring State Hospital, Big Spring, Texas, dated June 27, 1962. Hethcoat expresses their appreciation for Carswell having informed the hospital of his plans for Mrs. Carswell. Handwritten note by Carswell advises of a letter to the hospital dated July 23, 1962 with specific plans. Read by: Frankie E. Williams, M. D., Clinical Director.

Letter from Ted O. Groebl to Alex Bradford attempting to reach out to Mr. Bradford in hopes of establishing a line of communication with their West Texan brother. Mr. Groebl mentions that the Westex Oil Company is still going strong throughout East Texas. The final half of the letter mentions that the Groebl's and East Texas prayers are behind the Allied cause.
