Letter from Paul Osterhout to Osterhout family. Paul wrote his family to inform them that he received the coat they sent and to tell them about his job at the train station. He included information about an assault that happened at the station and a lantern he stole to use on the way home.

A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from a parolee/inmate in Huntsville, Texas, dated October 8, 1955. Subject No. 108,345 discusses the decision made by the Board regarding his parole having been turned down and advises Carswell of the decision he made to make the best of his time in prison. The reverse side includes notes handwritten by Carswell indicating that on December 14, 1955 he answered the correspondence from Subject No. 108,345 on October 8, 1955. He talked to Mr. Turner while in Austin on December 2, 1955 noting that Turner would look into the file and give any conclusion to the Board.
