Davis expresses his appreciation for the "good word" by Carswell about the Crusader and for their friendship. In a handwritten postscript Davis advises of Dr. Richardson having agreed to cooperate. Carswell handwrites a notation dated May 16, 1945 confirming having told Davis of Knox City and Eastland.

The envelope is included with the letter. It was sent to Charles when he was in Gallatin, Tennessee visiting kin.

Letter from Lewis McCutchan to his parents Mary and Marion Sims McCutchan discussing his work at the Harrison County Y.M.C.A. Camp for Boys, Taylor's Island, Karnack, Texas. He describes his duties, including being in charge of the cook's tent and dining hall. He mentioned that they went for a motor boat ride, and that it was his first. He comments on the boys' opinions of him as being strict, and his opinion that many of the boys had had very little discipline at home.
