A letter written to Mr. Carswell from Mrs. Caldwell, Clyde Texas, dated November 14, 1944. Caldwell expresses her appreciation for the letter from Carswell and for his friendship advising that she had heard Walter say many times that "there isn't any one in the world, outside my own family, that I love more than I do Tommy Carswell". She discusses Walter's death and her decision to stay in their home in order to have a place for the children to come together.

Letter from H. S. to Judge I. N. Jackson discussing a meeting between the writer, Mr. Webb, and Mr. Acheson, and all three men making a trip from Abilene to Cross Plains, Texas over the "upper" or "Eula" line. The lower or Oplin line is mention as being urged by the Sweetwater people, but the writer decided against going that way.

Letter from Walter R. Robbins to Henry Sayles discussing the location of a new town. The town will be considerable distance from the center of Callahan County. Robbins does not believe the new town would obtain the vote necessary. Robbins requests the new town be located at the center of the county.

Letter from W. A. Webb to Henry Sayles discussing a railroad trip from Abilene, Texas to Cross Plains, Texas for Mr. Acheson, W. A. Webb, and Mr. Fischer. Webb requests that Sayles make the necessary arrangements and offers to pay all expenses for the trip. The letter is on the letterhead of the Missouri, Kansas & Texas Railway Company of Texas, Office of Assistant to President.

These letters are from the Charles B. Moore Collection. They are written by J. Sabina Rucker to her brother, Charles B. Moore. In this letter, Sabina updates Charles on the Rucker family and details the country around her. She notes that while in the country she saw cowboys herding fifteen hundred cattle to New Mexico. The topic of this first letter moves to correspondences she had begun writing to Henry or Solomon. She discusses their travel and lodging plans and then closes the letter. Her brief, second letter was written on June 16, 1888. She discusses a house the family is looking at and notes that they saw a pack of dogs as they were coming into town. She details some news about a family friends and closes the letter because of the misting rain. The envelope is included with the letters.
