She writes to inform him of a recent publication - What's Behind the News? - she co-authored about media strategies and reform. A hand-written notation at the bottom of the letter requests that Mr. Salas send her information about the Black Coalition for research purposes taking place on the 2nd edition.

Jones also informs Perry of his intention to sell his land in order to re-establish his mercantile business, and offers to pay off his remaining debt to Perry by selling his three Negro servants.

Envelope addressed to Mrs. W. L. McKie, Sacramento, California from R. F. Begole, Centralia, Missouri. Reverse side of envelope has been removed by creator.
