[Mailgram Letter from Mario Marcel Salas to Sam Sitterle and Tom Poe - April 9, 1982]

Mailgram letter from Mario Marcel Salas, president of the Black Coalition on Mass Media (BCMM), to Sam Sitterle and Tom Poe. It would seem that both Sam and Tom were associated with the removal of two important radio programs from the air. Mr. Salas writes to respectfully request that both be reinstated, especially with the long history shared between Mr. Salas, BCMM, and KAPE radio, dating back to 1974.

Letter, sticker, pamphlet, and photocopied newspaper clippings from Sandra Cisneros to Sterling Houston, prominent San Antonio playwright. She writes to praise his participation in a group reading panel sponsored by Amnesty International and other organizations. The event, "We Say No: Writers Against Torture", brought together a variety of academics and writers for one night in San Antonio Central Library. The material enclosed by Cisneros corresponds with the event.

Letter from William B. Ray, chief of the Complaints and Compliance Division of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), to Mario Marcel Salas, president of the Black Coalition on Mass Media. The letter was sent in response to a formal complaint filed by Mr. Marcel over a failed negotiation with KAPE radio, a San Antonio-based radio station. However, it appears that Mr. Ray did not receive a specific enough complaint, and explains the course of action that needs to occur before the FCC gets involved.
