A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Charlie Maisel, Phillips, Texas, dated September 29, 1941. Phillips announces that his hat is in the ring to succeed Andy Dillworth as Dept. Commander noting that Carswell's council and advice and able assistance would be appreciated by him in this campaign.

A letter addressed to Major T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from Fred C. Smith, Moran, Texas, dated April 21, 1941. Smith advises Carswell that he and several of the men will attend the Albany Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet and wanted to avoid being absent for inspection if it was planned for the same evening. He expresses his appreciation for the courtesy shown to them by Carswell and the other officers and by the Chamber of Commerce.

A letter written to Major Knickerbocker--Arthur B. Knickerbocker, Major, 34th Battalion, Texas Defense Guard, Odessa, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Major, 10th Battalion, Texas Defense Guard, dated May 21, 1941. Carswell advises Knickerbocker of his inspection plans adding, in a postscript, that he will also inspect Battalion Hdqrs. Staff on June 2, if convenient.

Letter from Rose Framer on behalf of Dr. Meyer Bodansky acknowledging the receipt of a letter from Dr. Hans Selye from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. The letter states that Dr. Bodansky is ill and he will respond to the letter as soon as he is able to.

Letter from George E. Pabinowitz to the wife of the late Dr. Meyer Bodansky, dated October 21, 1941. The letter informs Mrs. Bodansky that her late husband is being honored at the University of Texas with a memorial plaque, which was bought with funds raised by the members of Phi Delta Epsilon.

Letter from Jane Maddon on behalf of the Depositors' Account Department of the Macy's Bank to Eleanor A. Bodansky, dated October 30, 1941. The letter informs Mrs. Bodansky that the bank can find no record of a deposit that she paid on August 23, 1941. The letter states that her bank said the check was in fact paid, and requests some information in order to assist the company in finding the lost check.

Letter from Lieutenant Thomas Kuenning to Mickey McLernon wishing her happy holidays and informing her that he is moving to Langley Field.

A letter written to Mr. J. D. Riddle, First Baptist Church, Abilene, Texas, from Jones W. Weathers, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Eastland, Texas, dated January 21, 1941. Weathers advises of an organization which was already established in the County assuring Riddle that Judge R. N. Grisham will be glad to call a meeting.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated January 21, 1941. Davis discusses the strategy of the campaign to be used in church services advising that the temperance question should be presented in an educational way. Handwritten postscript on right edge of page advises that Davis will send a copy of the letter as requested by Carswell. The reverse side includes notes handwritten by Carswell for a sermon regarding action which should be taken against the liquor market.

A letter addressed to the Superintendent of Documents, Washington, D. C., from T. N. Carswell, Post Commander dated March 21, 1941. Order made by Carswell for 50 copies of "Infantry Drill Regulations F.M. 22-5".

A letter written to Major T. N. Carswell, Commander 10th Bn., Texas Defense Guard, Abilene, Texas, from C. A. Dawson, Major 17th Battalion, Texas Defense Guard, Throckmorton, Texas, dated April 21, 1941. Dawson expresses his appreciation for the address given by Carswell deeming it a great help in the organization of the unit at Throckmorton. He requests guidance regarding purchasing uniforms and advises regarding some funding that has been promised for their unit.

A letter written to Major John W. Herbert, Major, C. O., 27th Battalion, Texas Defense Guard, Fort Worth, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Major, 10th Battalion, Texas Defense Guard, dated May 21, 1941. Copy to Capt. D. F. Morris and to Lieut. Col. Neill H. Banister. Carswell acknowledges Herbert's request to bring Mr. Winters with him to assist in clerical details and advises of the assignment of Lieut. Russell S. Stephens to assist him in the inspection of the Albany Company. Carswell advises Herbert of accomodations that have been made at the Hilton Hotel.
