An Analysis of William Walton's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra
The rhythmic analyses (derived from the rhythm tables of Chapter II) reveal: 1. Walton used rhythms sparingly. 2. Walton's rhythms constitute an evolutionary state of re-creation, i. e., Walton's rhythms are in empathy with each other. The harmonic analyses (derived from the harmonic fluctuation tables of Chapter II) reveal: 1. The most frequent chords of any classification occur in groups III and IV (chords of the highest tension). 2. The most frequent dissonant interval used is that of the major seventh.

The investigator became interested in the status of basketball goal shooting in modern girls' basketball as compared to that of boys' goal shooting. Types of shots, their frequency and accuracy, and the zones on the court from which they were taken, were all considered as components of the status of basketball goal shooting. It was on the basis of this interest that the present study was undertaken.

The Comic Element in the Novels of Thomas Wolfe
As to form, Wolfe's novels are deliberately loose, because that is important to his purpose. Conceiving America as an open society of potentiality, he could do no less than remain open himself. To do otherwise would have meant impotence if not sterility. In this thesis, I shall attempt to show that the episodes, divergences, and observations all illustrate and amplify this spiritual growth.

The Democratic-Republicans : A Study in State Rights Ideology
This study as a whole does not pretend to be in any way an introduction of information new or novel, but is intended only as a distillation of facts well known, but largely un-assembled in the specific fashion here attempted. Relative to the Republican campaign against the Alien and Sedition legislation, however, it would appear that perhaps there has been a certain amount of misunderstanding. It is hoped that the treatment herein accorded this matter may in some way contribute to an improved insight.

The Function of Craft Activities in Early Adolescence
This paper presents the thesis that a major emphasis on craft activities in the creative art program for early adolescence is indicated as an aid in the adjustment of the child to the more mature status in which he finds himself. As a test, during the school years 1955-56 and 1956-57, children in grades six and seven at the W. W. Bushman School in the Dallas Independent School District, Dallas, Texas, participated in various projects in crafts as part of the course of study in art, which also included drawing and painting. A description and evaluation of these problems are the subject of this paper.
