Primary Productivity and Nutrient Relationships in Garza-Little Elm Reservoir (open access)

Primary Productivity and Nutrient Relationships in Garza-Little Elm Reservoir

A large, multi-basin, reservoir (Garza-Little Elm Reservoir) in north central Texas was studied to determine the relative effects of various parameters on primary productivity. The basins were impounded several years apart, thus allowing the influence of age on water chemistry and biota to be considered. Another principal influence on water quality was secondary sewage effluent that entered one basin from a nearby source.

Deep Muscle Relaxation Obtained with Analog Electromyographic Information Feedback (open access)

Deep Muscle Relaxation Obtained with Analog Electromyographic Information Feedback

The purpose of the research study was to provide improved relaxation training with the use of an electromyography feedback device based on the design of Green et al. (1969). It was intended that this instrument would allow the training of deep muscle relaxation to the point of neuro-muscular silence, while remaining inexpensive enough to be applied in the clinical setting.

Carbon Flux in Reservoir Sediments (open access)

Carbon Flux in Reservoir Sediments

The central objective of the study was to fractionate sedimenting organic materials according to their source (allochthonous or autochthonous) and ultimately to determine the degree of biodegradability of contributions from either source with particular reference to activities at the mud-water interface.

Relationship Between Heel Length in Ratio to Foot Length and Performance in the Vertical Jump (open access)

Relationship Between Heel Length in Ratio to Foot Length and Performance in the Vertical Jump

Although the vertical jump has long been an accepted and valuable test of explosive strength and physical ability, the major factors affecting performance have not been isolated. This study was designed to investigate vertical-jump performance in relation to certain foot measurements. Two ratios comprised of heel/foot length and arch length/foot length were correlated to vertical-jump performance.

Racial (Black-White) Variability for College Students on the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (open access)

Racial (Black-White) Variability for College Students on the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory

The purpose of this study was to determine if there were significant differences between Black and white students on the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory in an integrated university, and to determine if these differences are consistent with findings in past research. In this study, socio-economic status, which has been suspected as the cause for racial variability, was statistically controlled.
