Seasonal Variations in Microflora of Four Denton County, Texas, Clay Soils
This investigation has for its aim the confirmation of the correlation between soil moisture and the microflora of soils, and a lesser relation between the soil temperature and the microflora. The soils used in this study are typical clay soils of Denton County, Texas. The samples were taken from virgin pasture lands and analyses made monthly or semimonthly. The wide seasonal variation of temperature and rainfall afford a good opportunity for this study.

An Analysis of the Contribution of a Given Educational System to the Defense of Democracy
The purpose of this study is four-fold: (1) to present through an analysis of life needs the nature and source of a curriculum best adapted to democracy; (2) to present fairly some of the reasons why a curriculum must be founded on democracy if democracy survives the dangerous forces that threaten to obliterate its very existence; (3) to make an unprejudiced analysis of the regular situation now existing in Oklahoma schools at the present time to find whether her schools are meeting this challenge to democracy; and (4) to offer from the comparison of the summaries of these data recommendations whereby all schools may have a curriculum "rooted in the life of its people"--a program that contributes to democracy and permanent national defense.

Food Habit Analysis of the Two Species of Texas Crappie
This study is based upon information taken from stomach analysis of 302 black crappie and 561 white crappie; the following data will be presented: 1. Food of adults and fingerlings; 2. Diet variation in relation to food availability; 3. Seasonal variation of feeding habits; 4. Diet variation in relation to size of crappie. Collections were made from ten lakes located in North, East, Central, and South Texas.

It is hoped that this paper can establish by such documentary evidence as is available, the following: 1. The program for financing social security advocated by W. Lee O'Daniel during his first term as Governor of Texas; 2. The program for old age assistance advocated by O'Daniel during the Forty-Sixth Legislature of Texas; 3. The activities of the minority group credited by the Governor with defeating "all efforts to finance social security" during the Forty-Sixth Legislature; 4. The explanation of Senate Joint Resolution 12; 5. The record, based on personal experience and the reported evidence, of the various groups and individuals working for the passage of Senate Joint Resolution 12.

A Study of Certain Interests of Boys and Girls between the Ages of Twelve and Sixteen Years in a Typical West Texas County such as Stonewall County
A personality questionnaire was given to the pupils of the four rural consolidated high schools of Stonewall County for the purpose of finding out, in so far as this was possible, the chief interests of each student between the ages of twelve and sixteen years. A series of questions concerning religious, social, recreational, and vocational interest was given to the students within this age group.
