The problem of this study is to determine the administrative practices for securing the optimum use of instructional space in colleges. This necessitates the development of an instrument to evaluate these practices.

The purpose of this study is to identify and evaluate the competencies that a person who desires to teach should possess in order to be an effective classroom teacher. Identification of these competencies will be made from evidence obtained through a consensus of student's opinions, these opinions to be solicited from students currently enrolled in courses required for a major in elementary education, and from the consensus of faculty members who ware currently teaching these courses.

The purpose of this study is two-fold: (1) to evaluate an instrument for measuring the self-concept of middle grade children; and (2) to determine the relationship of a middle-grade child's self-concept to his peer status, his classification by the teacher as a problem in behavior or classroom management, and to his academic achievement.

The problem of this study is to determine if certain factors which may be associated with quality of programs of work are significantly different in the most successful departments of vocational agriculture in selected areas of Texas from those in the least successful departments in the same areas. A consideration of the following sub-problems is involved in solving the main problem. 1. Evolution of the objectives of vocational education in agriculture. 2. Identification of activities denoting success in departments of vocational agriculture. 3. Selecting the most successful and the least successful departments of vocational agriculture. 4. The problem of this study is to determine the stability of interest of male and female students at the various age levels in the School of Education of North Texas State Collage, Denton, Texas. To be more specific, the problem is to determine the relationship of age, sex, or both upon stability of interest.

The primary purpose of this study was to develop the considerations and techniques for the selection, development, and validation of laboratory experience units in general biology for prospective elementary school teachers. The completed laboratory experience unites developed in this study may serve as resources of activities for college instructors who teach general biology to undergraduate majors in elementary education. For purposes of this study the laboratory experience unites were centered about those principles of general biology which an elementary school teacher should understand in order to teach about plants and animals.

The problem of this study is to determine the relationships between (1) growth in interest and achievement of high school science students and (2) attitudes, preparation, and experience of science teachers. The study encompasses grades nine through twelve, inclusive, in a sample of Texas accredited public high schools.

The problem of this study was stated in the form of a question: What is the relationship of leadership roles occupied in high school to leadership roles occupied during the first ten post graduate years and what are the possible implications for the improvement of education for leadership? The accepted hypothesis was that the occupying of leadership roles in high school does lay the foundation for occupying community leadership roles.

When one group of disabled individuals finishes their vocational rehabilitation training programs and another group, almost as large in number, fails to complete their courses one wonders whether there are significant differences in the two groups. The problem in this study is to determine if the two groups differ significantly in certain identifiable characteristics. The identifiable characteristics are some important objective variables that are utilized in the vocational rehabilitation training of disabled veterans.

The problem undertaken in this study was to evaluate the activity phase of boys' physical education programs in selected junior high schools of Texas. As a result of visitation and observation in a number of public junior high schools in the capacity of supervising teacher for physical education majors, it appears that many physical education programs were little more than loosely supervised play periods. Apparently there was room for improvement of these programs but a method for making judgments and recommendations required some type of measuring device. However, an examination of several existing measuring techniques failed to reveal any one devoted to the junior high school level or one concerned primarily with the activity program. As a means of improving existing programs, it was concluded that some new form of evaluation must be designed.

The problem of this study was to determine the degree of suitability for instructional purposes of the state-adopted industrial arts textbooks in a sound industrial arts program in the public secondary schools of Texas.

The primary purpose of this dissertation was to provide a technique for the development, evaluation, and validation of cases to be used for teaching courses in job evaluation. The same technique as developed in this study might have some degree of application to business cases other than those found in job evaluation. The secondary purpose was to provide an initial set of cases to be used in teaching job evaluation.

The purpose of this study is to develop an instrument that will measure student preference toward different classroom teaching methods; and to test whether significant differences exist between each of the Guilford-Zimmerman Temperament Survey scales for individuals preferring group-oriented and lecture-oriented instruction.
