The article is titled, "A New Twist on Art History," which focuses on Patterson's teaching methods in the classroom with her students, and how she took a different approach to education them by placing twelve painting prints in the room and having the students discuss the meanings of each and the knowledge of the artists who painted them. The methods has the children use their discipline-based art education with the four fundamentals of art criticism, art history, art production and aesthetics to talk about art.
