Interview with University of North Texas Professor Dr. Pierina E. Mercado Beckman, Mexican-born immigrant to Denton, Texas, for the DFW Metroplex Immigrants Oral History Project. The interview includes Beckman's personal experiences about childhood in Mexico City, relocating to the U.S., her decision to attend Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa, her culture shock and homesickness, marriage to Curt Beckman, the decision to earn a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature from the University of Iowa, being hired at UNT, and her efforts to remain in touch with family members in Mexico.

Interview with K.O. Dahlgren, civil engineer and Marine Corps veteran. The interview includes Dahlgren's personal experiences about being a PBJ co-pilot in the Southwest Pacific Theater during World War II, enlisting in the Navy, primary and secondary flight training through the Civilian Pilot Training Program, pre-flight training, basic and advanced flight training, and navigation school. Interview with Carlton J. Killgo, a Army Air Corps WWII veteran and POW from Slocum, Texas, who was shot down and captured by German forces. Killgo discusses enlisting in the Air Corps before the war, training and becoming a B-17 crewmember, deployment to England, his missions, getting shot down, capture by German civilians, transfer to Stalag Luft #4, experiences in internment there, liberation by the Soviet Army, and return to the United States.
