Local ranchers and oil men incouraged him to construct a golf course in Ardmore. Dornick Hills is a result of a lot of time and money spent by Maxwell. He built more than 60 courses in his career, including Southern Hills in Tulsa and Twin Hills in Oaklahoma City.
