An accompanying note by the dealer from whom the receipt was purchased states that A. S. Fields was a longtime Harrison County Clerk. Printed at the top left of the form: W. A. Adair, Proprietor. The receipt is a printed form with blanks for names and dates, which have been completed in pencil.
