Transcript of an interview with Nell Lenard, secretary, administrative assistant, homemaker, and community organizer, who helped bring senior citizen's center, the Dietert Center to the city of Kerrville, Texas. Born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, she and her husband John Houston Lenard lived in Tomball, near Houston, before moving to Kerrville with their family. Nell raised four boys and a girl and was heavily involved in her their lives and activities.

Interview with Robert Lee Mosty, World War II veteran and owner/operator of a plant nursery in Center Point, Texas. Mr. Mosty tells stories from his service in WWII, including how his unit was one of the first to meet liberated prisoners of war, as well as how he was wounded and taken prisoner. He also discusses studying at A&M, his work for the National Park Service, and running a plant nursery in the 1920s.

Interview with Amos Lee Smith, a rancher from Center Point, Texas. Mr. Smith tells stories from his childhood, the years during the Depression, sheep ranching, his various occupations, and his activity in the local Methodist church.

Interview with Courtney Sieker Wiggins Lutz, the descendant of a ranching family in Kimble County, from Kerrville, Texas. Mrs. Lutz discusses her ranching family, meeting her husband, Warren Wiggins, who was later killed in the Philippines during World War II, meeting her second husband who had been in Wiggins's company in the Philippines, and the Dodge dealership her second husband ran.

Interview with Ethel Baker Starkey, whose husband's ancestors were Texas Hill Country settlers, from Kerrville, Texas. Mrs. Starkey discusses her husband's family history. She also talks about coming to Kerrville for a job with her family.

Interview with Dr. Dan Wallace Bacon, a physician from Kerrville, Texas, who also served as the city and Kerr County health officer. Dr. Bacon discusses his family history, as well as his education, medical career, brief stint in the Air Force, and general town life in Kerrville. While working at Peterson Hospital in Kerrville, he treated trauma victims from car accidents on Highway 27. In the Air Force, he briefly practiced psychiatry, served as a prison doctor, and finally switched to obstetrics and gynecology. He relates stories from his time as an obstetrician, as well as a general practitioner and family physician. He also discusses the history of minority communities in Kerrville, especially during integration, and the founding of the Kerrville Veteran's Hospital. Dr. Bacon's further remembrances, as well as a historical profile of the Kerrville VA Hospital, are included at the end of the interview transcript.

Interview with Marium Frances Hood Schmerbeck, a 94 year old former teacher from Kerrville, Texas. Mrs. Schmerbeck discusses being brought up by her grandparents in Dallas, her education, her teaching career, and meeting her husband, Garrett Schmerbeck.

Mr. Klein discusses his parents' move to the area, his life as a rancher, and several notable events in local history: droughts, the flood of 1932, the establishment of the Divide School building on his family's land, and deadly weather.

Mr. Walton talks about his music career, briefly talks about music and LSD, and music culture in general. Mr. Walton's wife, Alice Delery Walton is present for the interview and inserts comments from time to time.
