The back of the certificate has a decorative design in blue ink surrounding the text "Receivable for all Advalorem Tax. Due the City of Waco." The recorder's signature at the bottom left corner is signed by James H. Torbett. The mayor's signature at the bottom right corner is signed by John C. West.
