Front of dress is trimmed with a bow of same under each breast. Bowler or derby inspired hat of fine red baku straw. Shallow 2" crown with slightly rounded top. Has 1 1/2" wide slightly squared flat brim rolled at sides. 3/8" wide hat band of self ties in a small bow. Unlined with red grosgrain ribbon inner headband.

Hat of black silk organza. Overall effect is turban-like. Hat is formed with bias organza draped over calotte cap. Fabric drapes across back and is turned under at center back. 1-1/4" wide satin bow 2" above lower edge at center front. Lined with netting and has black grosgrain ribbon headband with comb at front for securing hat to wearer's head.

Mushroom style hat of black silk organza covered with large black organza overlapping petals. Shallow black net crown with 5" wide down-turned brim. Lined in net with black grosgrain headband. No labels.

Two-piece suit of brown, yellow, olive green and off-white plaid wool twill. a) Semi-fitted jacket of plaid wool. Notched collar and lapel. Bracelet length, two piece, set in sleeves. Double breasted front opening with six round, plastic, olive buttons and three bound buttonholes. One button closure hidden inside lap. Pair of faux pocket flaps on front below waist. Back has a low-slung, self-fabric belt buttoned on at princess seams. Fully lined in ecru silk. Fully lined in ecru silk with white silk faille waist support lightly boned with two hook and eye closures.

Day ensemble consisting of a white linen top and matching white linen skirt. a) Semi-fitted white linen top. Shallow V-neckline with standard notched collar and short lapels. Short sleeves cut in one with jacket body supplemented by two triangular shaped gussets under the arm. Lapped center front opening with single round plastic white button and in-seam (yoke seam) buttonhole supplemented by single snap closure. Front has a bias yoke which cuts across bustline. Lower front piece is also bias. Back has darts which form release tucks at waistline. Sides are vented at hem. Fully lined in white silk. b) Matching knee-length, semi-tailored skirt with folded white cotton bias for a waistband. Left side zipper closure supplemented by single hook&eye closure on waistband. Folded hem. Fully lined in white silk.

Jacket of black gabardine. Single breasted with five black plastic buttons and bound buttonholes; hip length. Long sleeves with two darts at elbows. Yoked back. Front yoke button trim, two front lapels with one non-functional button closure on each. Flapped patch pockets with nonfunctional button closure. Rolled collar. Women's jacket of beige gabardine. Hip length. Long sleeves with decorative non-functioning placket; one non-functioning button and bound buttonhole on each placket. Patch pockets on breast with flap closure trimmed with non-functioning button and bound buttonhole. All buttons on center closure are non-functioning with bound buttonholes; actual closure is hidden covered snaps. Bottom button is bordered two inches above and just beneath bottom bound buttonhole stitching with thick black piping. Lined in black silk. Designer label in left side seam: Geoffrey Beene

Sailor hat of natural straw cloth with wide red velvet band and bow under brim formed as part of hatband. Small brim also has narrow band of red velvet around outside edge on top. Size label: "22 1/2"

Hatlet of brown velvet. The open-crown hat is formed of a hollow square with down-turned sides and corners, covered in brown velvet and edged in tiny pearls. "Flying" around the hat are 8 golden stamped metal hummingbirds. One wing of each bird is hinged, allowing movement of the birds as the wearer moves their head. Over all is a brown net veil "capturing" the hummingbirds, with scattered gathers of 4 pearls. The underside is edged in brown grosgrain ribbon, and has two small plastic combs attached to secure hatlet to wearer's head. Sewn onto the inner ribbon is maker's label: "Bes-Ben / Made in Chicago". Also sewn onto inner ribbon is hand-written label "917". Measurements: 14 x 15 cm. without net; 10 cm. from base of brim to highest tip of bird wing.

Skirt lined in silk matching bodice. Front placket with 6 mother-of-pearl 1" non-functioning buttons and bound buttonholes gives a double breasted appearance. Rolled collar which wraps around neckline is fastened with a matching button and loop and 12 covered snaps. Long, set-in sleeves. Center back zipper with hook & eye. Lined in sheer, ivory organza.

Jumper of chocolate brown jersey wool. Below knee length, with rounded neckline. Sleeveless, with squared armholes which have plackets over shoulders which extend down front to waistline and form opening for pockets. Six belt loops of same fabric. Center back hidden zipper with hook & eye. Lined in dark gray synthetic fabric. Designer's label at back right shoulder: "Pierre Cardin / Paris New York" Retailer's label at back left shoulder: "Maisonnette / Neiman-Marcus" Union label and size tag attached to back seam.
