Evening gown of black wool boucle trimmed with black fur (mink?) around neckline. Long gown, high neckline in front, sleeveless, low cut back with "tail" of fur at bottom of back. Boned understructure.

Dress of navy blue with navy blue wool twill coat embellished with silver buttons. a) Coat of navy blue wool twill with convertible collar. Single breasted with 5 silver domed buttons and welt buttonholes. Inseam pockets at front sides. Shaped 3/4 length sleeves. Street length. Evening clutch style purse of pink crepe in rectangular shape with pink top-stitching. Hidden snap closure. Accordion fold body; lined in pink satin with split patch pocket. No labels. Measurements: Width: 10 1/4" Height: 4 1/2" Depth: 1"

Hat of black silk chiffon. The hat is formed from a cylindrical pillbox style hat surmounted by a conical section that is folded back and flares out to form an extension behind the hat. Where the surmounting piece meets the pillbox is a black bow formed from the same cloth. Inside of crown is lined in stiff black netting, and has a black grosgrain ribbon running along the base of the crown. A small plastic comb is sewn in front of hat to inner ribbon to secure it to wearer's head. No labels. The donor records that "... Balenciaga showed it with dress and sleeveless coat..."

Navy wool draped backward over crown turned under and gathered at lower back edge of crown (back resembles a snood).
