[Soldering iron]

Soldering iron with a copper plated head, four sided with a pyramid point, with an octagonal body of head. At the back of the head there is a long painted black iron neck that has been inserted into the head. The neck ends in a point. The wooden handle is removable and fits over the pointed end of the neck. It is a turned handle that split in half and been repaired with black electrical tape. There is also metal wire wrapped around the base of the handle where the split originated. Three nails are inserted up into the base of the handle around the hole for the neck.

The one further away from the blade is 2 cm in diameter and is stamped with H Disston & Sons Philada With a little emblem in the center. The other is 1.2 cm in diameter and is plain. The blade is most likely the original because it has been engraved with the same names.

Mourning dress of black silk and lace in aesthetic style. Yoke has triangular shaped overlay of black lace trimmed with double rows of black silk ribbon and black lace ruffles on front and back. Attached gathered sash snaps at center back and has trailing, knotted end. Demi-gigot sleeves with lace overlay from wrist to elbow. Watteau back; slightly trained. Closes at center front with three hidden buttons and five hooks & eyes on yoke; partially attached lining of gray cotton that closes with twenty-three buttons down center front. Reinforced hem.

Velvet hat

Toque style hat of moss green velvet. Draped green velvet crown worked over a stiffened buckram frame. The top of the crown is embellished with an appliquéd filigree of bullion work, gold-tone braid and green and yellow rhinestones. Rolled wired brim of woven yellow, cream and purple silk ribbons accented with black chenille ribbon. The brim is diagonally draped with matching green velvet and moss green silk taffeta ribbon centered with pink, black and yellow stripes. The right front temple of the brim is accented with a cluster of purple and lavender artificial violets. There are two spherical black enameled head hatpins with long tines. Moss green polished cotton lining with drawstring adjustment. Black buckram crown frame. No labels.
