Set of 11 wooden blocks, hand-painted, which make up the bodies of Tommy the soldier and his horse Dobbin. Contained in wooden box with sliding lid, lid with colored illustration of the blocks and title; underside of lid with colored illustration showing 5 different ways the blocks can be arranged to make Tommy & Dobbin in different poses. Affixed to inside bottom of case is a second colored illustration showing 6 more poses.

The late nineteenth century telephone has an open body revealing the bells underneath. The body is black and decorated with some gold designs. There is a rotary handle and two uprights to cradle the earpiece.

Bed jacket of black openwork. Hip length-jacket is formed of vertical panels of black braid open work net overlaid/appliquéd with black braid in scrolls and arabesques, the whole is lined/backed with black silk. The panels are constructed to create princess seamed segments for shape/fit. Elbow-length sleeves, V-neckline at front with two hook & eye closures on center front. Neckline and upper part of opening trimmed with off-white eyelet lace ruffle. Two black braided circular button-like applied elements at center front, one at either side of opening.

Crescent shaped file with horizontal teeth. It has a pointy short handle the curves at the end.

Hoof rasp that is rectangular and flat. The bottom has small diamond-shaped teeth. The sides are horizontal. The top has big wedge teeth. The handle is long and skinny, but bent far over.

U-shaped clevis with a pin through the top. The pin has a circle at one end with a hole.

The stock of the die is rectangular shaped with two long handles that come out opposite sides. One handle is part of the rectangle while the other screws on to tighten or loosen the five dies inside the stock. The rectangular part of the stock has a 10.5 cm X 2.7 cm rectangular opening into which the dies fit. On the dies are several engraved numbers. A 7 is marked at the top of all five dies and on the 1st,3rd,4th and 5th are marked 10, 12,14,16. Above the die is a stamp: BUTTERFIELD & CO DEP BY LINE, V1. ROCK ISLAND. P.a Below them is written: No 32 B.

Hand saw with a carved wooden handle and steel blade. Handle has a carved leaf pattern on one side with three brass bolts: top two are 1.2 cm in diameter and have no surface decoration, bottom bolt is 2.2 cm in diameter and is stamped with an eagle and with "Warranted / Pat. Dec. 27, 1887 / Superior"

Combination tool that has a flat head with five sharp tines that have been inserted into the head. The neck has been inserted into the head and handle. The handle is wooden and shaped like a cylinder with rounded ends.

Bracket-shaped draw knife with turned wooden handles and a 10 in steel blade. The handles have steel caps on the tips.

Dress in Mother Hubbard style of cotton muslin in printed paisley pattern in shades of pink.

Capelet of black silk satin. The short cape is trimmed along hem with 3-1/2" band of pleated organza and band of jet beads. Standing neckline trimmed in pleated organza. Center front opening with closure of five hook & eyes, with bow of black silk satin moire with trailing ends attached to right side of opening at throat. Shoulder yoke bordered in tightly gathered narrow band of black organza. Bright purple moire silk lining.

Day/house hat of creme silk. Wide, wired brimmed hat with gold stitching throughout. Wide, low crown with ruffled brim. Pink flowers under and above brim. Large bow of self at back. Measurements: Front to back: ca. 29 cm. without "frill' Side to side: ca. 32 cm. without "frill" Height: ca. 9 cm. as worn, without "frill".

Pressed leaf and flower bud that was probably included in the letter from Alice McGee to Charles, Mary, and Linnet Moore of June 23, 1890. In that letter Alice McGee writes "I send you a piece [of] Grandma's Mother Hubbard...."

Small card holder/coin purse of insect and honeycombed embossed brown leather; snap closure. Small bronze frog inside purse, used to be part of interior closure. Ivory or bone weight on inside flap. Measurements: 10 cm x 6 cm.

Gold maroon and ivory striped silk ensemble. Three bodices and skirt. A, B, C: Bodices; D: Skirt. Original daytime (high necked long sleeved) top and evening off shoulder décolletage top of 1860's style with lower neckline, lace collar and chiffon sleeves. Bow tie of ecru silk in the straight or trestle shape. Square patterned weave; adjustable length. Fabric Label: "100% Silk RN 18236"

Picture hat of light pink silk taffeta and feathers. The domed crown is totally covered by sprays of off-white ostrich feathers and pale pink veiling. At one side is a metal buckle with rhinestones. The wide brim is wired at outer edge and covered with the same silk. The whole is swathed in veiling which also hangs down to secure below face of wearer. Crown of hat is lined in off-white silk, the brim is lined with the same pink silk.

Flat brown bonnet with embroidered light green lace with gold, rose, olive green, light pink design and trimmed with ochre silk and a silk gold bow garnished with flowers.

Sunbonnet of brown linen with pasteboard staves, crenelated buttoning crown and long tail; crown and tail are separate pieces, sewn together at neck seam; tail fastens to side of brim through 3 off-white buttons on each side; shape of tail is semi-circular; chin ties are narrow hemmed by hand; fabric is a plain weave with both white and brown threads. Measurements: 56 cm. from lowest point of tail to top of crown when laid flat; Brim is 20 cm. deep from outer edge to inner edge.

Cummerbund/sash of black satin with woven and knotted silk thread fringe. Measures 10 1/2" wide by six yards long.

Afternoon dress ensemble of navy jacquard with green and cream floral print. Consists of: A) Bodice with lace embelishments as if yoke but beneath faux vest of chartreuse green; geometric pleating in front; black velvet and chartreuse accent at collar; hook and eye closures at center front; remnants of ruffled trim on cuffs. B) Skirt; pleating in center; navy ruffle trim

Two-tiered capelet of midnight blue/black velvet and off-white lace. Capelet extends to about small of back, and has high, standing collar trimmed in dense ruff of tightly gathered of black chiffon. Around throat, along both sides of center front opening, around hem, and on edges and hem of the wide tier (7" at center front, 8" over shoulders) is wide band of off-white floral and scroll lace, placed as an applique along edges. Lined in brown fabric. Designer's label at center back neckline: "Mme. Josse / 3 / Boulevard des Italiens / Paris"

Dress top/bodice of black silk brocade in "tree branch" geometric design with lavender silk vestee front over-laid with black point d'esprit in pattern of squares. Modified leg of mutton sleeve with black passementerie trim. Stand-up collar of matching lavender silk covered in black lace. Collar and vestee close on left with hook & eyes. Black fabric lining of bodice is boned and closes at center front with hook & eyes in which hooks and eyes alternate sides. 29" waist.
