Fringed vest

Vest of black velveteen with printed black leather suede fringe. Floral print suede in metallic colors of silver, green, pale blue, mauve, and gold. Fringe is 3/1/2" bands of printed suede sewn horizontally and overlapping. Styled with high padded, overlapping collar of matching printed suede and left side opening with closure of five brass snaps. Sleeveless with bound armholes. Walking dress

Walking dress of green silk taffeta with warp printed black dot pattern. A) Bodice. Standing collar trimmed in green silk braid. Long sleeves of curved construction with epaulette trim of matching fabric bordered in fringed braid matching the collar and separate bow of matching braid; peaked appliqué of matching green braid and two covered buttons at cuffs. Center front closure of hidden hooks with faux button closure of green silk covered buttons matching sleeve cuffs. Boning at right side opening. Lined in brown mercerized cotton. B) Dress/skirt. Top of dress is brown mercerized cotton with short sleeves and closure of hook and eyelets. Skirt of green taffeta matching bodice. Lined in brown polished cotton.

Skirt Suit

Street suit of gray wool. A daytime or street suit consisting of two pieces. Excellent example of chiaroscuro work. A) Jacket with squared padded shoulders, no collar, and long sleeves. Opening along the central front, the jacket has a series of 5 hook-and-eye closures. A band that extends from upper left, across opening, and secures through a wide loop just below the right shoulder. The jacket is lined in a peach/mauve silk. At center back of inside neckline is designer's label: "Adrian / Original" Retailer's label at right inside seam: "Frost Bros. / San Antonio". B) Straight skirt was originally just below knee length, but has been lengthened by the addition of material almost matching the lining of the jacket. The skirt has a center back zipper closure. It is currently unlined, but has evidence of the alterations. No labels, possibly removed.

Skirt Suit

Woman's skirt suit of grey-black twill wool with blue and creme yellow pinstripe. a) Jacket has flat pointed collar with a rectangular insert yoke panel trimmed with four teal, olive and brown mottled plastic buttons. Center front opening with three same buttons and bound button holes. Bodice has 3 faux pocket flaps on right, increasing in size like a step pyramid. Long, one-piece set in sleeves sleeves with two elbow darts on both arms. Right arm has two rectangular, decorative fabric panels on right sleeve of jacket's fabric, with a single button and bound button hole each in the upper, outer corner. Lined in tan silk faille. Designer's Label at center back collar: "Adrian/ in/British Samek Material" b) A-line skirt with CF and CB and side seams. Hemmed in navy blue hem tape, blind hem (slip) stitched on both sides. 3" hem. Four waist darts, with 1 3/8" waist band ending in arrow tip over left-side lapped zipper.

Suit

Skirt ensemble of royal blue polyester, cut on bias, consisting of: Jacket. Waisted jacket with 3/4 length sleeves, partly cut-away in front, fastened by 3 snaps, each covered with a plastic button, in graduated sizes (smallest at top). Asymmetrical collar; notched on left, shawl on right. Inset pocket on each side with curving top edge. Cuffs have "winged" turn-backs. Sleeves sewn to create edge along top of arm from cuffs to collar. Center back seamed same as sleeves. Lined in royal blue synthetic; shoulder pads. Designer's label at center back neckline: "Thierry Mugler / Paris / Made in France" Size "42" tag at base of designer label. Evidence of removed label. Straight skirt of matching material with 2" waistband. Just below knee-length, with closure at back consisting of 3 large hooks and loops with studs at front and 8" zipper. Ensemble - Blouse and Pants

Lounge ensemble in pink silks. The pantsuit consists of a blouse and pants. The blouse is of pink silk, constructed as two layers. The inner lining layer is of plain pink gauze. The outer layer is of pink silk heavily decorated with patterns created by shibori technique dying. The blouse has long sleeves and a center-front zipper closure that runs almost the entire length of the garment and has a single hook-and-eye at throat. The collar, cuffs, hem, and flap over the zipper are a small ruffle of the same materials. The shibori patterns use green, yellow, blue, and the original white of the fabric to create bands of tiny "puckers", large circular forms, and abstract shapes. The pants are of pink silk taffeta, about ankle length, with elastic cuffs. Plain waistband, with zipper closure at center front and single hook-and-eye at waistband. Described in early records as harem pants, but lacking the fullness associated with that style. Both garments have the same series of labels. Designer's label: "Martine Grandval / Made in France Paris"; material label "100% Silk"; and retailer's label: "ViV / Neiman-Marcus / Made in France". Two-piece suit of bright green, beige, and red plaid wool. a) Jacket: Unfitted, bias cut in one piece; slight V-neckline with convertible collar. 3/4 length sleeves cut in one with jacket body have an under sleeve and a triangular shaped gusset under the arm. Lapped center front opening has three hidden snap closures. Corded belt loops are sewn into each side seam at waist. Fully lined in beige silk. Designer's label: Balenciaga / 10, Avenue George V. Paris b) Matching knee length bias cut skirt with narrow rolled waistband. Four pleats at front waist. Left side zipper closure supplemented by one hook&eye closure on waistband. Folded hem. Sling-Back Pumps

Pair of sling-back pumps of brown suede. Designed with somewhat "sided" toe - tapering along sides to a flattened curve at tip - the toes have a small triangular opening creating a peep toe. The toe-box has a 3/8" high platform, and is decorated with copper-colored stitching forming a grid set on the diagonal, the squares formed each containing a copper stud of either X or Circular shape. Throat of vamp cut to a gentle point. Plain sides sweep up to sling-back strap, which has small brown shaped buckle. The almost 3" high French heel is covered in the same brown suede. Designer's stamps inside shoes: Left shoe: "Palter De Liso Inc. / New York City" Both shoes: "Palter DeLiso / Capri Last" Retailer's label sewn into right shoe: "Neiman Marcus Co.
