This poster explores data gathered from the UNT Libraries' reference analytics from questions submitted to the libraries. It was presented at the UNT Libraries' 2023 Student Snapshots Symposium held in Denton, Texas.

The 17th International Conference on Knowledge Management was held in the historic city of Potsdam, Germany. Since the conference was among the first post-pandemic face to face conferences, the overall theme of the 17th edition of the ICKM conference rightly focused on “Knowledge, Uncertainty and Risks: From individual to global scale” at different levels of analysis and agency. This poster highlights the qualitative study which was conducted in a major regional hospital in Germany, using the FRAM to analyze the recurrent and complex process of surgical care preparation in the morning. The aim was to offer the hospital a detailed qualitative analysis to promote resilience and maintain a safe state of operating during this process. The FRAM illustrated relevant system functions and unveiled sources as well as effects or variabilities that are now in the process of being evaluated according to appropriate goals and values. In this way, the FRAM illuminates hidden but relevant knowledge, so to speak tacit knowledge, within a complex sociotechnical system that is difficult or impossible to identify otherwise.

Twitter is one of the major social media platforms highlighting public opinion. With over 330 million users across the globe, Twitter provides insights into global sentiments on many topics. One can estimate global sentiments towards certain events relating to COVID-19 by analyzing the most common phrases and their related sentiment scores from Twitter API data. This project has compiled the most used trigrams in tweets relating to COVID-19 to calculate sentiment scores for the period from March 22 to August 7, 2020. Another goal of the project is to optimize data collection from Twitter API. Twitter limits access to tweet contents to 900 requests per 15 minutes for unpaid API users. For student data scientists, paying for increased API usage is financially infeasible. So, to deal with the rate limit, the project has written functions using the Tweepy python library to collect Twitter API data. The Pandas library has also been used to sample 139000 tweets from over 300 million. The IEEE Dataset provided sentiment scores for the full population. So, to check the integrity of my sample, I performed a Pearson correlation test between the full dataset and sample data, and got 0.84, showing the sample is representative of …

This poster introduces visual thinking for art librarians and artists, and it looks at different techniques to promote creativity, conceptualize ideas, solve problems, and come up with new insights. It was presented virtually for the Art Libraries Society of North America's 48th Annual Conference held on July 29-31, 2020.

Poster discussing practical methods for ensuring the quality of descriptive metadata associated with linguistic datasets in language archive deposits. Digital language archives are valuable tools for facilitating language revitalization, providing data on lesser-known languages, and supporting reproducibility of research and development of linguistic theory, though their potential remains unrealized as the data available in language archives are rarely accessed by linguists or language communities. Reasons for this under-utilization are the issues with data standardization and metadata quality. Including basic grammatical and typological information would allow wider audiences to reach the material.

Presentation for the IIPC General Assembly and Web Archiving Conference virtually held on June 14-16, 2021. This poster reflects on what has been previously collected in the IIPC Olympic/Paralympic collections, possible research use for this collections as well as outlining what researchers can do with these collections using the Archives Unleashed Cloud.

This poster explores the process and resources used to create subject metadata for The Chronicles of Oklahoma collection in The Gateway to Oklahoma History. The Chronicles of Oklahoma is a regional publication from the Oklahoma Historical Society that has been published since 1921. The UNT Digital Library is digitizing the back issues and making them available to the public through the digital library, The Gateway to Oklahoma History. It was presented at the UNT Libraries' 2023 Student Snapshots Symposium held in Denton, Texas and at the 2023 Texas Conference on Digital Libraries (TCDL) held May 16-18, 2023 in Austin, Texas.

This poster presents preliminary results from a survey of library employees on their experiences with toxic workplaces in libraries. The poster includes the most-reported toxic behaviors, advice for employees and employers on how to manage or avoid a toxic workplace environment. It was presented at the Electronic Resources & Libraries 2020 conference held in Austin, Texas.

Poster evaluates the representation of racial and ethnic minority students in clinical psychology doctoral programs as well as the rate at which they were matched for internship compared to non-Hispanic White students. It was presented at the Council of University Directors of Clinical Psychology Virtual Midwinter Meeting held in January 2021. It was also presented at the UNT Psychology Research Day event held in November 2020.

This poster discusses the creation and value of UNT Libraries Serials Transparency List that contains the subscription pricing information they receive from publishers. The list promotes transparency in journal pricing and informed decision-making in collection development. It was presented at The Exchange an Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS)/Library and Information Technology Association (LITA)/Library Leadership and Management (LLAMA) Collaboration held virtually on May 4, 6, & 8, 2020.

This pilot study extends nursing’s historical efforts to prevent medication errors by using a database research approach to better understand why medication errors persist in acute care settings. The pilot study was conducted 3 units and float pool nurses. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multilevel regression modeling.

Poster examining if gender differences exist for two common anxiety symptom categories: mood (e.g. nervousness) and somatic (e.g. sweating). A multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was conducted to examine gender differences in anxiety symptomology and yielded no significant differences in anxiety severity based on gender. A pattern was present of more somatic symptoms than mood symptoms for both males and females, and males reported lower rates of anxiety symptomology combined when compared to women.

Business competition increasingly involves entire supply chains (SCs) rather than individual firms. Thus, knowledge, which is a strategic resource for companies, needs to be managed properly not only in single firms, but also at inter-firm level and in SCs, so that companies can coordinate and co-manage resources, activities, and innovative efforts in collaboration with their partners for improved competitiveness. To this end, knowledge management (KM) practices and their adoption for the effective management of SC inter-firm relationships can be of great help, but the current studies on this aspect are very fragmented, and there is still insufficient knowledge of what practices are adopted to manage knowledge in inter-firm relationships and how intensely these are used. This study contributes to filling this gap by measuring the adoption and intensity of KM practices and comparing their use at the intra- and inter-firm level. A survey of a sample of European large and medium-sized manufacturing firms was used. A descriptive statistical analysis and a correlation analysis were performed on the collected data. Poster focuses on developing a conceptual framework to understand data literacy needs in community colleges. The authors propose a framework for studying data literacy by conceptualizing data literacy and explicating the core content and competencies associated with it. It was presented at the 2023 Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) conference held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This work is part of an Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grant.

In order to perform research data triangulation, there were three main sources of data: 1. External/Internal Survey of 15 Library Directors (5 in the Navy; 10 from Government/Universities), 2. Literature Review/Industry Best Practices, and 3. Navy Lab Interviews (Ten) . The results include "Harvest” the personal collections of classified and other materials (reach out to the end users to put documents in library repository); Need to modernize our workflow; Having research material that can be easily accessed for desktops; Need to share information and knowledge; Focus on the needs of your community and evolve with those needs.

Poster discussing the role of ethnicity in the relationship between posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and suicidality. Research indicates an increased risk of suicide and suicidal behavior among individuals with PTSD. Latinx groups, in particular, have lower rates of suicide injury death in comparison to non-Latinx groups. These findings do not explain increased suicidality in non-Latinx clients, but is congruent with the Latinx health paradox, the contradictory finding of better health outcomes for Latinx despite known additional disadvantages.
