Postcard of a cobblestone walkway overlooking a winding river that splits two hills. The message on the border reads, "He and Irene in Houston for funeral." The back of the postcard adds, "Hawk's Nest is located on U. S. Route 60 overlooking the New River Canyon. It was once called Marshall's Pillar for Chief Justice John Marshall. The New River Canyon is declared by engineers to be 585 feet deep." The message on the back is illegible. The postcard is addressed to "Mrs. Carroll E. Ward 1906 McFaddin Ave. Beaumont, Texas."
