Soldiers pay day tomorrow. Hope you are ok, I am. Yours, Walter.' This postcard was mailed to Mrs. Henry Horne, Lauder Hill, Hallowell Maine. This postcard is post marked El Paso, Texas, September 2, 1912. This postcard has a 1 cent green Benjamin Franklin stamp on it. The Benjamin Franklin stamp is ca. 1909. There is advertising on the wall behind the women.

Postcard from a man named Edward to George Pendexter with a note saying: "These are the first pictures I have been able to get since leaving home. Hope they suit you." The photograph on the reverse side shows the hook and ladder company of the Waukesha Fire Department in Waukesha, Wisconsin; this company is made up of eight firemen. The horse-drawn wagon in this photo is carrying a load of ladders in the back, along with fire helmets and various hooks.

Postcard from W. B. Johnston to George Pendexter discussing different cards and views from other collectors around the country. The photograph shows the "McLane Swift & Co. Elevator" burning on July 1, 1911 while a large group of firemen are working to put it out. There is a large group of civilians standing in the background watching as the firemen are working with their fire engines to try to put out the fire.

Postcard from J. P. Eagan to George Pendexter concerning Eagan's time spent with a fireman from Muskogee, Oklahoma and the opening of a new fire house in St. Louis: "#52 Auto Engine #18 Auto Truck." The photograph on the reverse side shows a group of firemen "making a quick hitch after open run in Court of Honor. Oct. 8, 1909." This team of firemen and their wagon are surrounded by a large crowd of people and patriotic decorations all around.

Postcard addressed to Lois Matlock with an illustration on the front depicting a child eating out of a jar of jam with a woman running behind him waving a broom; the note on the front reads: "They Laugh Longest Who Laugh Last." There is also a note on the back of the card that talks about life at the sender's house and the fact that they are working "for a few days at the Bakery."
