Grand Lagoon, St Louis Exposition

Color postcard depicting the Grand Lagoon, patterned after the one in Venice, Italy. Gondola boats float across the water. This postcard is an advertisement for the Regal Shoe Company of Boston. They offer to send a free map of the exposition to anyone interested. Handwritten on the front of the card, "Hello your self. I have been to fair & returned had fun plenty. You owe me letter. Your friend, S.G.F. Was at fair ten days. Why did you not write you before you went." It is addressed to Miss Rosa Bassano, Paris, Tex., South Mill St. It is postmarked Cincinnati, Ohio on Oct 27, 1904.

[Postcard of Alaska Natives Around Cooking Fire]

Postcard of a photo-realistic illustration of three Alaska Natives in colorful coats and pants squatting around a small cooking fire. The woman on the left has a small child on her back and holds her hands above an open metal box. Metal pots and kettles give off steam over the fire, while other buckets and canisters sit behind the group. A large, cream-colored tent is also pitched behind them, with articles of cloth hanging from the ropes holding down the tent, and in the background on the right, several houses sit on a small hill. There are postcard markings on the other side.
