U.S. Troop in Mexico. Punitive Expedition Troops somewhere in Mexico. Walter H. Horne does not provide us with any specific information about the exact location of these Troops; or to which Unit these Troops are a part of. However since they are in Mexico, these Troops are undoubtedly part of General Pershing's Punitive Expedition in Mexico ca. 1916 - 1917. The unknown group of men are part of the Pennsylvania National Guard. Most of the men look tired and dirty but a few men have managed to smile for the camera. There are several horses in the background as well as at least 3 supply wagons. Back of the postcard in parenthesis: "5th over the river", according to research, in 1916, the 5th Calvary Regiment was dispatched to the Texas - Mexico border to serve as part of the Pancho Villa Expedition. The "river" in this case is the Rio Grande River. This postcard is addressed to: Miss Elvira Weakland, 1928 - 13 Ave., Altoona, PA. The soldiers sit in tall grass. Zoom in on this image to see close ups of some of the men eating in this photographic event. Horne, does not leave us with any information about where he or these troops were when this image was captured. We also do not have the name for this army unit. However since this image was captured in Mexico, ca. 1916, the troops were part of Pershing's Punitive Expedition into Mexico. The only information written on the back of the image is: '5th over the river'. Postcard Lillian to Mrs. Albert Schaenemann, thanking her for her card, saying she's having a wonderful time, and writing that she will be home on Sunday. The front of the postcard features an illustration of a man standing in a boat on a small lake. On the shore behind the man, a group of people and tall trees line a concrete ledge, looking out over the water. Behind the trees, a large field is just visible.

Postcard from Tillie to E. F. Kneupper, discussing her surprise trip to visit her mother. She talks about a girl named Emma being sick for about three months. The front of the postcard features an illustration of a herd of dairy cattle standing in the middle of a dirt road. There are two buildings with tin roofs visible in the background, as well as a group of trees.

Postcard of the Holy Angels Academy in Boerne, Texas, a two-story building with wrap-around porches on both stories. There is a small tower extending from the center of the roof of the building, with a cross-shaped spire at the top. There are a few short steps leading up to the first-story porch and the front door to the academy. There are several trees surrounding the building, obscuring much of the second-story. On the back, there is text written to Mrs. Engelke in San Antonio, Texas.

The picture shows Matamoros, Mexico across the border from Brownsville, Texas. There is a letter on the back of the postcard addressed to "Miss Maria Sanchy" from "E. M." that reads, "Ni la ausencia y la distancia, ni el tiempo de no [v]erte; por ningunas sircustancias he de dejar de quererte, yours for ever." (Loosely: "Neither the absence and the distance, nor the time since I have seen you; under no circumstances have I stopped loving you.")

Postcard from Andrew J. Fallon to George Pendexter with a note from John Butler written on it; the note talks about sending for more cards with all of the "new auto horse wagons in Springfield, Mass." Butler had sent this card to Fallon and he then sent it on to Pendexter after crossing out the note on the card. The photograph on the reverse side shows a horse-drawn fire wagon with two firemen posing with it, one man is sitting in the driver's seat and the other is standing towards the rear. The vehicle itself has a large metal contraption in the back and an alarm bell mounted on the top of the bulb figure.

Postcard of the Providence Fire Department and citizens at a three-story fire station. Three fire fighters are standing on an upright ladder in the center of the image. On the back of the postcard, the sender has left a handwritten message that says, "Occupies the first door - engine. The next - doors leading to men's quarters in centre - trucks next - district chief last. This station is close to my home, covers the district [...] up to date - bowling alley on the top floor. Capt's rooms at each corner, front - recreation room in centre. [...]"

On the back of the postcard, the sender has left a handwritten message that says, "Have just one more fire dept. down here with one after sending these two today. So, please send me card next time - until I get home."

Postcard from W. B. Johnston to George Pendexter saying that he has just returned from his vacation of 25 days. The photograph on the reverse side of the card shows a Quaker Oats Plant having been burned in March 1911; the building is still smoking at the time of this picture. There is also a train in the photograph with the words "Ann Arbor" written on the side.

There is a note from Bahl on the reverse side of the card that reads: "Isn't this awful I just want you to see how good looking I'm getting I really don't look as bad."

Postcard addressed to Birdie Walters with an image of the United States Arsenal Grounds in San Antonio, Texas; the image shows three cannons mounted on the open grounds with a small building in the trees. The note on the back of the card reads: "Please come quick as you can home because I cant go to Sinton if you don't."

Black and white halftone postcard of a scene with two young women at Hynson's Springs, near Marshall, Texas. One of the young women stands at the bottom of the spring house and is holding up what appears to be a long-handled dipper, while the other woman is seated on the top of the spring house and is reaching down toward the dipper. The spring house is a brick, stone, and possibly concrete structure with arches at the bottom where the water comes out. It is located in a depression in a wooded area. Printed on the border to the right of the image is the title, "Scene at Hynson's Springs, six miles west of Marshall, Texas." The postmark on the back of the card is dated Aug 31, 1910, and the card is addressed to Mrs. Charles Keller, Buffalo, N.Y."
