There is handwritten text on the other side of the postcard to Mr. Leslie Boone in San Marcos, Texas.

Postcard of an 11 story brick building with white, yellow, and green accents, described as "Hotel Lamar - Meridian, Miss. An Affiliated National Hotel." The back of the postcard adds, "Meridian's predominant hotel. 200 modernly appointed guest rooms with baths and circulating ice-water. Excellent, New Air-Conditioned Coffee Shop attractively designed in a Spanish motif... famed for fine cuisine. Spacious, new meeting rooms suitable for conventions or groups." The message on the back reads, "Here - Mathew and I spent Monday night Sept. 29th 1941 at this hotel and our may car ride Baltimore Mod. to Beaumont, Texas."

The back of the postcard adds, " "Linden" is one of the extremely old mansions of Natchez - known to have existed as far back as 1790. Fan lights and door side lights feature Gallery. The Gallery is 98 ft. long, supported by columns being made of a solid piece of timber hand hewn and hand polished." The message on the back is illegible. The postcard is addressed to "Mrs. J. C. Ward Mrs. S. W. Staggard 1685 Park St. Beaumont, Texas."

The back of the postcard adds, "Built in 1855 by the confederate general William T. Martin who represents Mississippi of Stone Mountain. Due to the prominence of the general unusual vengeance was wrecked on his home during the Civil War, furniture was destroyed and horses stabled in drawing rooms."

Postcard of a one story cream-colored building with white columns supporting the roof at the entrance, further described as "Monteigne, Natchez, Mississippi...Built in 1855 by Confederate General William T. Martin. Noted for its classic design and its surroundings of azaleas, camellias, and century-old live oaks. Home of Mrs. W. J. Kendall and famous Member of Pilgrimage Garden Club." The message on the back reads, "Wish you were with us. We loved Rosedawn. It is a beautiful restplace. We will see five houses in Natchez tomorrow. We are spending the night here. Love, Clyde." The postcard is addressed to "Mrs. Carroll E. Ward Room 311, St. Luke's 6720 Berther St. Houston, Texas."

The postcard adds the following on the back, "One of the best preserved ante-bellum Mansions. House, grounds, and furnishings are practically unchanged since the forties. Suspended over the dining table is a relic of yesteryear, a Punkah. In slave days even after the Civil War, these fans were propelled to and fro by servants during the serving of meals. Built 1845."
