The back of the postcard adds, "Sam Houston Home and Grounds General Sam Houston, Commander-in-Chief of the Texas Army in 1836, President of the Republic of Texas, Governor of the states of Tennessee and Texas, United States Senator. General Houston lived in Huntsville, Texas, during his last years. His grave is in the city cemetery."
