First Presbyterian Church, Marshall, Tex.
Color tinted halftone postcard of the First Presbyterian Church, located at 310 N. Fulton St., in Marshall, Texas, photographed around 1907. The main building was constructed in 1884 in an English Arts and Crafts parish church style. The main gable-roofed structure has a picturesque tower entrance porch projecting on the right. Decorative shingles can be seen on the mid-level of the entrance tower and in the ends of the gables, and turned wood elements decorate the entrance porch. Bushes and trees surround the building. Printed on the upper right part of the image is the titles, "1136 First Presbyterian Church, Marshall, Tex." Printed on the right edge of the image: "Published by Mathewson Drug Co., Marshall, Tex." Printed on the back in the lower left corner is the Curt Teich Co. logo with the letters "C" and "T" intertwined , "Co." in the opening of the "C", and "Chicago" below. There is a postmark dated July 18, 1908. The card was addressed to Miss Nelle Lymes in Waco, Texas, and forwarded to her in Asheville, North Carolina.

The Beaumont Country Club was formed in 1906 on a hill overlooking the Neches River on a hundred acres of land. Printed at the top left of the postcard is "Country Club House, BEAUMONT, Texas." Printed on the back of the postcard is the following information related to the postcard's creation: "Made in Germany. D.J. Hicks, Importer and Publisher, Beaumont, Texas" and "G.A.P.C.M. Co., N.Y." Handwritten on the back of the postcard, "Dear Julia - This is Sunday and we are busy as ever. I will write a letter tomorrow Hoping this will find you well and happy Mamma." Postcard from G. L. Schench to Mrs. L. H. Schench, discussing a six mile drive the sender took, and the natural beauty he or she saw. The front of the postcard features a photograph (colored in with ink) of Fern Bank waterfall in Boerne Texas. The waterfall is a small stream of water spilling over a rocky ledge covered in greenery. The water fall cascades down a short distance, and then over a rock and into a pool of water. There are more rocks and greenery on either side of the waterfall.
