Visible in the background are the tents that housed the refugees. According to research, the 'Mexican War Refugee Camp' (31° 49.335′ N, 106° 25.728′ W), was located inside of Fort Bliss, Texas near the present day location of the Fort Bliss Museum - 1735 Marshall Rd, Fort Bliss, TX 79906.
